Atlanta road cycling
I'm gonna be in Atlanta this weekend. From Google map, I think I'm near Vinings.
I really dislike driving to a ride, so are there any good routes near that area? Also, how's the traffic there? Should I avoid riding at certain time of the day? Thanks all. hao |
Here are two Saturday rides. No Sunday rides in the Vinings area.
9:00 am Atlanta Cycling - Beyond Six Flags (1NW) Please join us for a 40, 50, or 62 mile ride on rural roads following an out and back painted route. Lunch following next door. Store located 1/2 mile north of Chattahoochee River at 4335 Cobb Pkwy, (Atlanta). For more information, email AtlantaCycling.com, or call 770-952-7731. 10:00 am Atlanta Cycling - Vinings Loop (1NW) Join us for a 22 mile through Buckhead and Sandy Springs on a painted, low traffic route. Lunch following, next door. Store located 4335 Cobb Pkwy (Atlanta), 1/2 mile north of Chattahoochee River. For more information, email AtlantaCycling.com, or call 770-952-7731. I think you'd have to drive to all the other rides in the NW part of town. |
If you are going to be in vinings or that general area hit the silver comet trail.. Starts near there, ends in Alabama
No traffic but walkers and bikes.. |
I use to ride some in the area when visiting for work, I just tried to stay off the main roads as much as possible. I never had any issues with drivers there. Stay off any road named Peachtree.
