I considered riding today but it was too cold and WAY too windy. The sun came out for 15 minutes.

No ride yesterday -- way too windy. Still windy today and colder.
I guess trainer season is here.

well, not much riding for me lately. Several weeks back we went out to one of our favorite preserves and rode. Had a tough time getting through some of the dirt but felt ok. Christmas weekend we went camping @ Anastasia St Park on St Augustine Beach. The first night we rode our bikes on the beach @ night with our lights. Rode for quite a few miles but my knee/thigh/hip was really bothering me...especially walking. Christmas day we loaded up the bikes and went downtown St Augustine. Rode the bikes all around the historical area....put about 10 miles on it. Ever since then I am really having a problem. I've pretty much decided it might be a pulled muscle. Just not sure since the left knee and hip are also hurting. (First knee I had replaced over a year ago). Can't get in to see the Ortho until the 20th of Jan so I've been trying to baby it. So hard as I've really wanted to ride since I've been off for the last few weeks.
Weather here for the last few days has been perfect for riding. Unfortunately I'll be going back to work on Tuesday. Won't get much riding in in January as I'll be swamped @ work. (work in an accounting/tax office).
Just hoping Ortho can tell me what's wrong. Hoping I didn't damage the knee.

I was starting to wonder if you guys were riding.... was getting close to posting and asking. Hopefully like you said it is just a pulled muscle or something. I'l cross my fingers for you. You are right though the weather has been great for riding.... I started feeling really bad when I wasn't riding with the weather so nice. So I have tried to pick it up a bit. But some days it is tough with it getting dark so early..... grrrr..

That must have been cool riding at night on the beach!! I have rode from Fort Matanzas (sp) to the peer in St. Augustine on the beach..... but not at night..

Take care.... heal fast... Jay......

Great weather in DC going into the weekend. Had planned to do last day/first day rides. Instead, I took my wife to the emergency room late morning of NY Eve, and spent NY day filling prescriptions and getting buying for her new (hopefully temporary) diet.

Been off the bike too long because I'm remodeling the basement. Last of the sheetrock went up today. First coat of mud. Second after work tomorrow. I can see cycling again soon.

Way too windy yesterday and way too cold today.
Maybe I can ride tomorrow if I wear my eskimo suit.

Ron... Where can one buy a cheap used Eskimo suit? Because I have become a Florida wuss over the years, low 40's is too cold for me to ride. Supposed to be high of low 40's today where I'm at. I grew up in Michigan but have been in Florida too many years now I guess.

Took mom to the doc for flu-like symptoms. She uses oxygen at night to sleep but for the past few days has had to have the oxygen on most of the day, so took her to the doc on Thrs. The doc saw her and had her admitted to the hospital right away. Hopefully they can get her all cleared up and ready to go in a few days (so the doc says). But anyway no ride Thrs, ran out of daylight. Taking my bike with me when I go visit in the morning.... Soooo maybe get a ride in before I come home from visiting.

Haven't ridden in a few days because the flu is kicking my butt.... Still not feeling much better..... but then again... not really feeling any worse.. (knock on wood). I'm really itching to ride some new found trails. Found trails looking on the internet because I was too sick to ride.

I haven't ridden since Wednesday (1/11). It's been way too cold and/or way too windy. It's currently 32 and it's supposed to get up to a balmy 49 later today. I may venture out for a ride. Or maybe I'll do as I did yesterday and stay home and make sure the fire in the wood burning stove doesn't go out.

well, no riding for me since Christmas. Finally went to doc for pain in knee/thigh/hip. Thought for sure I had just pulled a muscle but just wasn't getting better. Went back to my knee surgeon cause I wanted to make sure I hadn't damaged the knee. Well, long story short...I now need hip surgery. Damn arthritis. Doesn't feel bad to ride but have a real issue getting on and off the bike. Feels like my leg just won't support me. Doc recommended an injection for now (he knows I work in a tax and accounting office and surgery is out until after April 15th). So, back on the Celebrex for the last few days but it hasn't done anything. Pain is not too bad in AM but by afternoon I can barely walk. Scheduled the injection for next Tuesday. Hoping that will give me some relief and that then I can get back on the bike for some exercise.

Hubby has set up my road bike on trainer in the living room but still have issues getting on and off of it. Hubby has been riding Santos most afternoons when the weather permits. Luckily no spills so far.

Haven't ridden the past week due to an upper respiratory infection that's just about cleared up. Supposed to be a high of 68 tomorrow so depending on how i feel in the morning I'm gonna try to make it out for a ride.

Sorry to hear about more surgery needed.. I hope the injection will let you get back on the bike a bit.

I found some more off-road trails that shoot off from the G.ville Hawthorne trail. They shoot off near the Hawthorne end... They are part of the Grove Park wildlife management area. Some unimproved roads and some designated trails. But I have been too sick to go riding.... I was feeling worse when I woke up this morning... now I think I feel a bit better....

Rain and I had jury duty. Had to report at 8:15. I wasn't picked (YAY) and got home a little while ago.

well, had the injection this AM. I think this might work. I can actually walk without too much pain. I'm thinking a bike ride might be in my future for this weekend. Problem is, I'm probably going to be working Saturday and Sunday. But, I'm gonna make time for at least a short ride.

No riding outside today even though it's currently 61 degrees. Guess I'll be riding the trainer.
