The outer bands of Isaac are here so I decided to pass on the ride today. Four of my last five rides have been in the rain.

No ride today. It looked like rain all day but nothing happened until around 3PM, and we had a friend over for lunch, then someone wanted to see the house (still no offers, just lookers) so we had to leave. That was a good excuse to go to the archery shop -- my latest passion. I got a bow. For the archers in the house, I ordered a Hoyt Horizon riser, 25", white (should be here in 2-3 weeks) with Hoyt Excel limbs, 28# (should be here in 2 weeks or less). The bow will be 66".

WOW I have had almost no riding this whole summer. Maybe 2 rides since the last post in this thread.
I hate it but I finally have most of this kitchen remodel behind me. Home Depot royally screwed me up on the counters. Basically had only a partially functional kitchen till last weekend and the y still managed to screw up on the measurements and the counters don't fit as they should. No way to fix it without replace 75% of the counters. If I had stuck with my measurements it would have been better then the guy that was paid $400 to measure cut and install.

So my excuse for not riding now is the eye surgery I had yesterday. The good news is now I only see 1 of everything LOL.

Once I get use to this and off some of the drugs that are making me loopy I'll be back on bike.

Eye surgery? Good luck.

I'm having cataract surgery on eye #2 on Thursday (9/20). Then no riding until 9/28.

No ride today. The sky was dark and overcast all morning so no ride. Supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. Looks like Wednesday will be my last chance until 9/28

Had eye surgery #2 today so no riding till next Friday. I guess I'll be doing a lot of walking or other non-stressful type exercise till then.
I'll have plenty of time to work on the bikes.

Same here. I spent most of the summer working long hours out of town. But back in Atlanta for the best season to ride. Now about these extra 15 pounds I put on.

Tell me about it. No real kitchen for 20 days and only a partly functional one after that was a LOT of eating out. My wife put me on a Diet this week LOL. Problem is week after next I'll be on the road 4 days and eating on the road. Good part is the $42 a day meal allowance. the bad thing is the $42 a day meal allowance hahah. Will be in Savannah for the night on Thursday. Unfortunately one of the other guys is going and doesn't ride.
Rode every day this week. Even today after riding up on the crime scene were a fellow rider was hit and run and left for dead in the street very close to my neighborhood. http://northeastcobb.patch.com/artic...car-in-ne-cobb video here. http://www.11alive.com/news/article/...ar-in-Marietta

I heard about that. I also heard some guy interviewed that said cyclists shouldn't be riding on Canton. Made me mad.

Last day of no riding -- hooray!!! So I went to Intown Bicycles (my former employer and favorite shop) to visit and ordered a new Ultegra 9-speed (11-23) cassette for the Litespeed. Tomorrow I hit the road.

Funny that idiot said that. That part of Canton just got redone and suppose to be part of complete streets. There is suppose to be a Wide shoulder/bike lane where he got hit.

Fall is here.
We had to leave the house because the buyer's inspector came to check out the house. So went to north Ga yesterday to visit with our "Florida landlords" and see their new huge cabin. It must be nice to be rich. It looked like something from a magazine.
I wore jeans and a long sleeve shirt and was cold. It got all the way up to 51 degrees. The sun came out around 4PM.

No riding today either. Still cold as **** so I called the mover to get an estimate, then went to fill up the car with gas after yesterday's long drive, had some french onion soup to warm up, and then took a nap while my wife watched a "girlie" movie.
It got up to a balmy 60F today and overcast. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Supposed to be 69F (heat wave) and sunny so I'll don the arm warmers and base layer undershirt and hit the road.

Those mid-80s in Inverness sure sound nice.

After not riding for too long (almost a week) I was planning a nice ride for today. The street was damp when I woke up so checked the radar. A big green monster is headed straight for Atlanta. If it was summer (warmer temps) I'd probably chance it but riding in cold rain is no fun. I did enough of that when I was still employed and commuting by bike to work.
So I guess I'll head out to the archery range today and ride tomorrow.

Decided not to ride today. The rain just stopped and it will be wet and messy.
I'll ride tomorrow when it will be freezing. The low tonight is supposed to be ~47F. Brrrrrrr. This will be my first ride of the season with arm warmers and base layer undershirt.

Long couple weeks since I have been on the bike. Been plenty going on and playing with my hot rod. Got it a new set of wheels and tires. Now it's fully road worthy. 400 hp convertible muscle car has been winning my attention when the garage opens.

Going to try to ride in tomorrow.

I haven't ridden in over a week. The cold/cool/windy weather kept me home all week so we've done lots of packing.
Tomorrow looks like a good day for riding.

I've been checking the FL weather every day. Looks much better than what we've had and will have after the weekend.
Can't wait to get there and ride. I hope I still remember how.

I came very close to selling this last year while it was in pieces. I've owned it 20 years, Bought it from my Mom's Second husband who bought it new.
It lost oil pressure 10-11 years ago and was sitting. With family and everything else just didn't have time or money. 8 years ago I had a MI that damn near killed me. Really put a damper on stuff. 7 years ago after a year of soul searching I bought the motor from a kid in Alabama trying to get some thing going with it. Again time and money it sat. 5 years ago after worrying I was going to drop dead with every twinge I felt in my chest I dug my old Peugeot P8 out and started riding with the decision I'm either going to die from another MI or get over my worries. Its been consuming my interest ever since.

Last year the wife and I had decided we needed to clear some more projects that were not getting done. That we had no time or money for. The 59 Airstream I just had got the body back on weeks before I had the MI went. A lot of other smaller projects like my 64 Sears Allstate (Vespa), RC planes had gone a couple years before.
I put an Ad on Criagslist. Figure I sell it and buy a running driving Porsche. My wife didnt understand how it would Be cheaper for me to have the 928 that I always wanted over fixing this. Around here rusted Muscle non running muscles are bringing decent coin. Basically I set a time line that the motor was going in in 5 weeks. Buy it now $6k (I would have taken 5) motor included but after that date $10k. Plenty of nice 928s pop up at that price or less. Lots of people interested but they wanted it for $6k motor in it driving.
So time came to put the motor in. Took a week off to do it. 4 days into it I was able to get it to start third try. 7 days later it was tagged.
Everybody offered $6k I told them to screw off go buy a non running rust bucket hard top for $4k. LOL

Basically fell back in love with it pretty quick.
Now where the wife doesn't understand how a Porsche 928 could possibly be cheaper is the plans for this are starting to happen. LOL $100 worth of wheels and tires got a smoking deal on them Sam's had a "special buy" on the tires. Normally $183 for the rear 275 40 17's $87!!!!!!
Picking out stuff I want for it now and the list is LONG and expensive. Suspension will be about $4k, 6 Piston Wilwood front 4 piston back $3k. New gauges $900. Richmond 6speed OD $3.5k Thats how a Porsche 928 is cheaper. lol

Now back to topic......Going for a ride! (on the bike) Its gorgeous out and mid 60's.
