Hot Springs, Arkansas Bike Routes?

Hi folks. I'll be in Hot Springs this weekend and was wanting to see if there were some 30-50 mile routes that someone could recommend. Low traffic and shoulders on the road would be extra nice.

Thanks.

You might stop in at Parkside Cycle at 719 Whittingtoon Ave. in HS. Open 11-6, Tues-Sat. I think the Hot Springs Bicycle Club may do some group rides from there.

Lots of good riding in the area, though if you're staying in the condo zones near the lake, traffic on Hwy 7 can be problematic (no shoulders there either).

But if you're anywhere near downtown, plenty of back streets to get across / out of town to the East, NE, N and NW.

Take some low gears... lots of steep hills. One of my favorite short loops:

Heading to a wedding and then home tonight, I had a great time in HS area yesterday even though I didn't get to ride until about 1 PM. Though we stayed at Comfort Suites on 270 (south side) I worked my way downtown with just a bit of riding on Hwy 7. 3

I did the ride out to the west for about 15 miles out and back. I saw the recommended bike shop in the way back into downtown and had a pleasant half hour cooling dow and having a gatorade. Then back downtown, drank a Fat Tire to replace some carbs, and then climbed the Mountain Tower hill. Glad I brought the touring bike rather than the compact double. That was a great climb and fun downhill.

Thanks to you folks for the advice. With this 102 degree heat, I felt right at home.
