Evening Beverage ride in Clearwater/Largo/Seminole, FL

I'd like to find some people close by that would like to meet up and go for a ride around in the evening time. Maybe do a 20-25miler, maybe stop for a couple of beers on the way, maybe not... Just seeing if anyone on here is in the area and would like to do something like that.

To bad I don't live in Clearwater any more or I would take you up on the beverage ride. Back in the 90s some buddies and I would meet at Taylor Park every Thursday at 3 pm and ride to Tarpon Springs. We would stop at Molly Goodheads (have you ever been their) and another bar as we road north then have a Greek dinner on tthe sponge docks then ride home. Boy do I miss those rides.

Hah, Taylor Park isn't too far from my normal entrance onto the bike trail. Haven't been to Molly Goodheads

Yo gotta go their. The atmospher is great, food average or above the beer A+++. They serve it out of an old claw foot bath tub ice cold. I was trying to find some photos that I have from their but I have not been able to locate them. Louis Papas in tarpon was a good Greek resturant but they have closed. Zorbas down on the dock was very good but I don't know if they are still open. Great belly dancers.

You might also want to check out the group 'Tour De Trail' out of Dunedin. They do bar hop rides every so often. I've heard them describe themselves as a 'Drinking group with a biking problem'. This may be a bit looser than what you are looking for though, not sure.

I've yet to be able to hook up with them as they only do special rides a few times a year. However, here's an email I just got from them about a Halloween Ride soon.

Hopefully if I can keep at this I'll get my speed up and we can maybe create our own since I think we tend to ride the same areas but my average is still a bit slower than yours.

All,

I know you've all been waiting patiently for this email, but it's finally here, the announcement for the Halloween Tour de Trail ride....

Because Halloween actually falls on a Saturday, this created some conflicts with other parties, Trick or Treating etc, so the ride will be the weekend before Halloween - Saturday 23rd.

We will meet as usual at Skips on Main St. in Dunedin at NOON, then head north stopping at the usual favorite haunts along the way, probably making it up as far as Ozona. As always, costumes and bike decorations are not only encouraged, but the crazier the better!

Hope to see everyone there

I pm'd you.

Can't make the halloween ride unless it goes into the early evening because I don't get out of work that day until about 4.
