Louisiana Old Hwy 51

Anybody ride Old 51 from LaPlace to Ponchatoula?

My question involves the stretch into Ponchatoula. Don't you have to get on the interstate for a short bit in both directions? If so, is this legal?

I just started biking and am looking to expand my routes out of Ponchatoula/Hammond

No you don't need to go on any Interstate. Check GoogleMaps.
