MidnightMicro, can't offer any ride recommendations due to the fact that I live in central FL but welcome to the SE forum. To fully accepted into the forum you have to post pictures of your bike and your rides. only then will we send you your secret decoder ring and show you the forum handshake.

Oh, you can post them anywhere pretty much as often as you like.

Bike pictures is what passes for porn on these forums.

Welcome to GA. I'm down near the coast outside of Savannah.

There was a nice guy from your new neighborhood active on the forums in the spring. He was new to road cycling. He lost a lower leg in a motorcycle accident. I don't know if he kept riding over summer or not. Some of his last posts concerned staying comfortable in our oppressive summertime heat and humidity. (You're in for a BIG surprise next July.)

Seems like he found some rides around McDonough.

Are you a MTB guy or a roadie?

Stop by Epic Bikes in McDonough. They have rides that leave from the shop and there are 3 ride routes with maps listed on the website.

The Southern Bicycle League has a great ride calendar. Easy to join so you can see the calendar.

Got pics of your bike(s)?

ooh! I'll be sure to check out Epic Bikes! They seemed like a nice bunch when i walked in there last time! Here are some pictures of my bike!:

I can take more tomorrow! better lighting ^^

+1
I was by Epic just about a month ago. Very friendly and helpful people there. And Tarmac the Shop Dog (black lab) is worth the trip too. Very helpful and friendly dog.

Hey--

I actually just moved to McDonough a over the summer as well. I live right at 20 and I-75, so i've been going up Willow Lane and shooting out Mt. Carmel to access to nice roads out near Hampton and Atlanta Motor Speedway. I like riding down (and up) Wynn Drive in Hampton-- it's a pretty nice hill (for McD) with virtually no traffic. Also, if you're looking for a longer ride, take Upper Woolsey Rd. back behind AMS. There are all sorts of open roads out there. But I use Carmel for access, because I got yelled at one too many times by natives for trying to ride on 20 (how dare me).

For a BRUTAL route, take Rocky Creek Road to Griffin. It is hilly the whole way, with a couple of extremely brutal hills right in the middle. However, I think there is currently construction at Rocky Creek and Hampton Locust Grove Rd., so I've been sticking to the northern route.

I might have seen you riding around. I've just seen a few people... I ride alone. I did the group ride at the Trek store a few times, but group rides seem kind of dangerous to me, so I stopped doing it.
