Orlando Convention center area

Hi all, I'm going to be in Orlando the week of June 24th and was considering renting a road bike to do some 25-30 mile loops. Is there any relatively safe places to ride in the near vicinity or safe ways to ride to places that are good? Thanks for any help. I found plenty of places to rent bikes, just not sure if I'm in an area where I could actually use it!

Just been discussed: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...of-Disney-area

Biking around Convention Center is pure suicide. I cringe every time I have to go there driving a cage.

Good luck!

Do you have a car? I don't know of any bike shops or bike rental locations in that area. As mentioned above, the riding in that area is not safe. You have two types of drivers in the Convention Center / I-Drive area : 1) Locals that are late & 2) Tourists that are lost. Neither bode well for cyclists.

As stated above, it is a very dangerous area to ride, the locals are from somewhere else and always in a rush and the visitors are lost and sight-seeing and no one watches out for cyclists except other cyclists. Wear a helmet and please be safe. I am from Florida and I would not ride that area Or A1A in Miami-Ft Lauderdale or the worst of the worst U.S. 19 in the Tampa Bay area.

West Orange Trail. there is a bike shop RIGHT on the trail.

https://orlandobikerental.com/

The trail is about 40 mi end-to-end. Make it shorter/longer. Well stocked rest stops with bathrooms/fountains about every 10 mi.

cflcycling.com if you're in to group rides.
