Hey there,
Thanks for asking! Surgery was just over 2 weeks ago. Just now starting to walk without the cane. Been using the mtb on the trainer in the living room the last few days. For some reason I am feeling that it's taking longer to bounce back because I get tired really easy. But, I keep telling myself that I've had 3 major surgeries in less than 2 years and I'm no spring chicken. I'm not sure when I'm going to attempt the bike outside yet. When I went to the doc last week I asked but he just frowned at me. So, I think I'm going to wait a few weeks before I do anything and if I do it will probably be on a paved trail. I saw some scarey pictures on the Ocala Mountain Bike Facebook page of a girl who had a bad accident just last week. (at Santos). Sure has me re-thinking riding there. Hubby is still riding there but he mainly sticks to the yellow trails.
Anyway, thanks for asking. I am so hoping to get back to biking real soon.

All things considered it sounds like your doing okay so far. Keep doing what the doc says and you should be good to go soon I've never been to Santos, and never actually ridden trails that are marked like those. But having read about your husbands mishaps there and seen some of the videos maybe i'll just stick to the logging trails and management areas LOL. But having said that... I really did like the Paisley Woods trail, well right up until I got cramps in both quads.. But seriously it was mostly single track not real technical (a couple places were though). And it is shaped like a figure 8 so that you don't have to ride the whole trail in one shot.

Goood luck and hope your back riding soon!!!

yes, scary...hubby says he thinks it was a "red" trail. It also sounds like they had some issues getting her out. From everything I read, it appears worse than they originally thought. Yep, I will stick to double track or really easy single track...at least for awhile.
Jay, thanks for asking about me. Hoping to be back out there soon and posting pictures. I've enjoyed yours and am really curious about the Paisley one since it's so close to us.

I wish I would have had the chance to take more pictures of the Paisley trail.... But when your riding with 4 other people its kind of hard to just stop and take pictures... Hmmmm although If I would have done that maybe I would not have cramped up LOL.

I REALLY need to get another camera mounted to the bikes.... I miss taking pictures on the fly..
