Gainesville/Hall County cyclists?
Greetings local yokels!
We have some exciting stuff happening 'round here, and I'd like to see if anyone else is interested in putting some energy into it. We have a greenway trail getting built later this year from Gainesville to Oakwood, and Gwinnett is linking up the Ivy Creek with Suwanee. First, if there is anyone that knows the particulars about these projects, I'd love to get together with you via PM. If there is anyone that would like to see a trail network from Gainesville through Oakwood, Flowery Branch, Buford, and Suwanee, also contact me. I'm in touch with all the planners, mayors, and commissioners involved. The funding is there.
Also - we have several road widening projects getting ready to happen and I want to squawk as loudly as I can about getting a bike lane put in. Anyone familiar with this process? Seems like a fairly inexpensive thing to do, if it's just painting a designated space for bikes....
Thanks anyone who reads this. I'll also post over on the A&S forum....

Sounds like real progress up your way. We go up to Alto and Clayton several times a year. I'll have to check into this.
