I grew up in Augusta up on the Hill.

Lot's of memories of riding around there but due to the growth of Evans, Martinez and Columbia County in general my favorite rides of 30 years ago aren't really practical any longer. They improved the roads for cars but not bikes.

Last few times I rode near Augusta I went by car over to the Sumter N.F. in Edgefield County, SC or up towards Sparta and Wrens.

I saw the picture you posted of the bike. As an owner of two Bianchi's currently (a Campy 10 speed equipped 928 and an old but dear Advantage hybrid) and past owner of two others I predict you'll grow to like that bike even more. A real classic!

Oh, please take this kindly but when you photograph your bike, especially if you are going to post it in the Road forum, there are some rules concerning presentation.

Drive side out.

Chain on the big ring.

Pedals at 60 or 30 degrees not up and down or horizontal.

No water bottles or saddle bag.

Valve stems should be placed so they match (i.e. both at 6 o'clock).

Yikes, I had no idea! I will make the appropriate corrections. Yes, things have grown up a bit around here. I haven't gotten daring enough to try Washington Road or Columbia yet, except for short hops to the store. There are a lot of group rides aroud, but I haven generally stuck with the course I created for myself.
