Columbus, Georgia MUP anyone?

Hi folks! I'm interested in the MUP in Columbus, Georgia that runs along the Chattahoochee River. I have reviewed the online maps on PATH and Rails To Trails, but would be interested in hearing about your experiences such as favorite restaurants, things to see, museums, etc. Anybody familiar with the trail?

I've done the Georgia Bike Fest in October the last two years. Bike path along the Chattahoochee goes for about 9 miles from downtown Columbus to Ft. Benning. We were allowed to cycle in the fort, but I don't know if that's allowed at all times. There are a number of other bike paths in the Columbus area. Very friendly to bike tourists. There is a naval museum just off the river path, but I didn't go to it. There is an infantry museum near the entrance to the fort. Did it last year. Very interesting military displays, but a little creepy to me. There are lots of good restaurants downtown Columbus.

I ride the trails all the time. nice and clean. benches for those that choose to stop. also you can ride on to benning anytime.

Rail to trails is good just follow the signs. It does cross streets with crossing lights and has a bike shop on the strip for support or rentals.
