just saying hello from NC

Hello,

I'm Matt from western NC, and I just reregistered for bikeforums.net. After seeing I was from NC, another member suggested I say hello here. Have been a "serious" ;-) road rider for about 10 years.

Also, here are the bikes which currently own me:

2006 Fuji Roubaix
1996 Schwinn Le Tour
1970s Motobecane frame converted to fixed gear/singlespeed
2009 Schwinn road hybrid (from Walmart)

I'm always intrigued/amazed by how cycling can change your perspective... (almost always for the better...)

Matt

Here are 2 pics of the Roubaix, Ron, and the Schwinn is kinda visible in the background of one. I'll see if I can take more of both these and also the other bikes.

Hre's a link to the Super Sport on Bikepedia:

I'm the 2nd owner of the one I have. It doesn't have toeclips. It's a pretty neat bike.

And I think this is roughly the same model Motobecane I have except (of course) in an adult size. I'll see if I can take pics of it, too. I found it at a thrift shop here in Waynesville.

Btw, you guys' "encouragement" may not be good for my wallet. ;-)

Cool bikes!!

mwhoyle 12-21-12 05:20 AM

Thanks, Jay. The Schwinn has a few upgrades from its original condition--mainly bar-end shifters and the PowerGrips. The Fuji is mainly as-was. And the Motobecane is all "new" except for the frame. It needs to be ridden more.

Matt-have you ridden in the Blue Ridge Breakaway? Beautiful views you have there.
