Orlando airport to Southern Tier route
What would be the best way to ride from Orlando Airport to Jacksonville ?
Thinking of doing the ACA Southern Tier route across the US. Don't necessarily need to
start in St. Augustine, just need to go north from Orlando Airport and connect with the ST
route somewhere.
Guess I could rent a car or take the train, but would prefer to save the cash.
Appreciate any advice.

You could take the train to Palatka, it is about 25 miles west of St. Augustine. Good shoulder to ride on State Road 207 to St. Augustine. Bike shop in Palatka (Putnam Bicycles, 3 or 4 blocks from the train station). Dana one of the owners is a great mechanic. You could probably arrange to have your bike shipped right to his shop.

I was thinking about this the other day when I was by the Orlando International Airport. It would take serious stones to ride a bike in that traffic. Most of the roads leaving the airport are 6 lanes, not any real bike lane beside them. You would need to get north of Seminole county (probably 50 miles) before the traffic thins out.
But, what about Orlando Sanford Airport? Can you fly in there? It sees far less traffic, and is in Seminole county, already 35 miles further north, closer to St Augustine.
