Orlando Tour de Cure, Who Is Riding It?
Just a quick question- how many of the local Bike Forum folks are riding the upcoming Tour De Cure in Orlando for the American Diabetes Assocation? My wife and I have signed on for the 50 mile event- and though less prepped than we want to be...are going to get out and make it happen.
Who else is going to be out there with us?

Apparently, it's just going to be the three of, but I think I might be twice the size of those skinny riders, so it'll seem like there's more of us.

Well, I got in 45 beautiful miles yesterday (the other 15 were pretty ugly), so I feel prepared for 50 next weekend. I averaged 11.3 with over 900 feet of climbing, I just looked at the TDC route again, and there is less than 300 feet of climbing for the 50 mile route, so I am good to go.

Well, the bib number is 676. First day of early registration, and 675 people already had personalized bib numbers, or signed up before me. I saw one of the emails said over a thousand riders were signed up. That's a lot of coordinating.

Good job on the 45 miles. We got undercut a couple of weeks ago by a rather bad bike crash. Top ride length has been about 32 miles- but we have been hitting the road at least 3 days a week.
My number is 704 and The Wife is 705.
Not riding the 100...but we should all keep an eye out for each others numbers!

Heya Podagrower!! It was great actually meeting you during the ride! I tried to keep my eyes open for your finish, but was really crashy. We'll have to meet up away from the Tour....the Vette goes in for work this week, but then will be happy enough to be checked out again.... I had the phone on Strava during the ride, so didn't see you had been checking in during the ride- that's pretty cool.

So, I found myself in 2 photos from Rory and Staci (link is in the thank you e-mail). I had a hard time finding them because I was looking too far in the back . Apparently, I am not as slow as I think I am (but bailing out of the first rest stop early helped). In the photos from the airport (after the routes re-converge), I'm only an hour behind the first bike, and 3 hours ahead of the last bike. Granted, I would have been the last rider if I had gone for the 70, but I'm going to cal it a win.
