Hello 'Crawford21'!

Welcome to Upstate, SC and to the "Bike Forums". I also live in the Greenville area but I am a dirt shredder not a roadie. A good start for some sweet road pedaling is the "Swamp Rabbit Trail". Personally, I would be a bit leery about road riding on many back roads due to having barely enough room for vehicles... In the long run, there is a few roads equipped and give room for road side riding, especially in the downtown area of Greenville. Do you plan on hitting up some dirt?

well i had a specialized p2 dirt jumper a couple years ago that i played around with on a downhill course in clemson. i grew up riding dirtbikes so that was fun but sold that bike and now the only bike i have is the road bike i just got. thanks for the welcome!

Originally from Boston...but have lived all over since. Loving Greenville area. I will keep you posted on the local events--please do the same. It's going to take a few weeks/months to get back into riding shape. Harley riding killed me!

Cools! Since you are on a HR, have you tried Gateway Bike Skills Park at Gateway Bike Park in Travelers Rest at the end of the Swamp Rabbit Trail? It is behind Sunrift Adventures. It is a mountain bike skills park for all levels of riders and skill levels (from the kids to pro riders). It has dirt trail, bike skills section (rock gardens, wood skinnies, rollers, drop-ins, and a sweet drop-off feature, big flow track, and table-top jumps in the big flow track if wanting to air) and smaller pump track. It is an awesome place by far and still getting on the map. I ride there with my family like every weekend or so, and it rocks! Never heard a bad word about it yet. Though after all this rain this summer, it needs some grooming in the flow track, but that is in the works.
