Shona, Let me recommend the Orlando area for your riding pleasure, countless hotels/motels within a short driving distance of some of the finest trails in the state. Start with the West Orange Trail one day, next day do the Seminole Wekiva and part of the Cross Seminole Trail, day 3 and 4 The Spring to Spring Trail and The Cady Way. Day 5 drive a short distance and ride The James Van Fleet. There is no shortage of good eating establishments in the area. You can ride for a week and never see the same thing twice. If you need additional info let me know. There are several cycling clubs that you can ride with as well. The Florida Freewheelers have rides almost every day of the week.

If y'all gravitate towards riding trails, the prior recommendations are solid.
I live in Astor, a bit farther east on SR40. I ride the roads around here to places such as: Altoona,
Paisley, Pierson, Emporia, Seville, DeLeon Springs, Deland, Eustis and Mount Dora.
Much of the riding is on back country roads, and even the main highways (SR19 and SR40) can be lightly
raveled with good shoulders.
If you do not have arrangements booked already, I can recommend one if you drop me a PM.
I ride most days and would enjoy guiding y'all around the area.

Ronno6, we are interested in the trail but will definitely want to venture out. We live in South Texas where we generally ride on farm to market, back country roads. I don't know how to private message but I'll figure it out. Thanks.

Here's their Facebook page - no website yet. https://www.facebook.com/InvernessBicycle
They're only about 2 blocks off the Withlacoochee Trail.

I had to wear a fleece vest and arm warmers one day last February while visiting my parents. Was only 55 degrees that day. Then again I rode in the high 40's today and we still aren't to winter cycling.
