Travelling Virginia Beach to Kitty Hawk NC in May
Hello everybody! I’m a cyclist from Germany going on a cross-country bike ride in May. I want to ride from Virginia Beach to Kitty Hawk, NC to connect to the “NC State Bike Route 2 - Mountains to Sea” route. What route would you folks recommend?
My current plan is to ride through False Cape State Park into NC (see attached picture). Based on my Internet research, I’m not sure if this is the best route. Is this route open all the times? Is it too sandy? Is Highway 615 a better alternative?
Maybe there are some people from this area here who can help me!
