Do SoCal stores have winter sales?

I am in the market for a new road bike. In most other places, stores usually liquidate inventory in the winter, but the weather here is always good. If anything, winter is the best time in terms of temperature.

Any deals on a 58-59 bike? Backcountry has a Ridley for a great price right now. Very tempting.

I had this same thought the other day. It doesn't seem like we get the benefit of the "seasons over" sales that other areas might get.

I am usually a used bike guy so I don't pay attention to the sales my LBS has. Good luck with the hunt.

A lot of the bike stores here have sales on and off from Labor Day through Xmas. It's more the model year changeover than the weather. There are probably some good deals on leftover 2015 bikes if you can still find what you want. I bought a new mountain bike at my LBS on Black Friday a couple years ago and got a great deal.

I know Janaury is a slow month for LBSs, so you might try about mid-month and see what's available. I'm pretty much a used bicycle buyer, too. January seems to be a real slow month and you can get some good deals on Craigslist at that time.

As I searched for a touring style bike this past August and September I discovered by shopping here in SoCal, Phoenix, Memphis, Dallas, etc. that used and new prices here are about 20 to 30% more on average than what I found elsewhere. Since new models were coming out I was able to get a decent deal on a 2015 - not great, but better than full price.
