Central Los Angeles bike stores
Are there any bike stores in the area (around Hollywood)? Talking about bike stores that deal with road bikes, not just fixies and the like. Closest I could find is I. Martin Bicycles/Helen's Cycles, but they are too far out for me. Anything in DTLA?

don't know what your exact cycling needs are but...
i've used sunset junction bike shop twice now while riding in the silverlake area near dtown la. first time, the guy replaced my snapped rear der
cable on my road bike in about 15 mins at 7:45am for $10. the other time, my riding companion needed a new road tire pronto around 8:30am and he
came up with a decent one for $15.
it's a minimal advertising business and i think it exists mostly for commuters but his rollup door space is crammed
full of bicycles & bicycle parts/wheelsets. the early, non-corporate hours were a huge help because i didn't want to wait around till 10am either time when most stores open.
friendly, older guy and i liked his service enough that if i'm riding within 10 miles of him and a repair need popped up, i'd give him first crack. he didn't seem like he was
in it for the money, but for the love of keeping people/his clientele moving on two wheels.
i have no idea if he sells full/rideable bikes but i wouldn't doubt it. it's in the sunset triangle plaza just around the corner from the coffee shop.
corner of griffith park blvd & edgecliffe drive just off sunset blvd in silver lake.

Safety cycle is at: 1018 N. Western Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90029
They appear to have sprung a second location too. I've never been in but they seem decent. Plenty of road bikes on their website

Yes, I should have been more clear. Finally getting back into riding after a brief absence. Have all the gear, except for a bike. Most say I should support my LBS, but in my almost four months in LA, I have yet to see one. Then again, I do not drive (will eventually get a car as well), but I have been all over. So I am first looking for a store with a good selection of road bikes.
After that, I just need a good LBS to do the repair work that I do not want to do, such as truing wheels. I also need a fitting, but I do not mind traveling a bit for that one.
I missed Safety Cycle, thanks. Maybe I lumped them in with the "fixie" stores. Strange that the carry non-Specialized bikes since I thought Specialized only had concept stores. I will never buy another Specialized product again.
Strongly considering getting this bike if I do purchase over the internet:
