I start riding Oct 2006. Last year my ride (the one I did most miles on) was my Harley V-Rod and this year the goal is to do more mile on my bicycle than the motorcycle. The Car left for (really) rainy days.
Riding with the SFVBC on weekend and from home (Encino) to work (Calabasas) 3 times a week.
I think, and my wife knows, that me too... I am a cycloholic.

My name's Dave, and I live in Central Orange County. Or to be more exact, I live in Garden Grove. I've ridden extensively around Central, North, and a little bit of South OC, as well as some excursions into Long Beach (including the San Gabriel River Trail all the way up to El Dorado Park), through the use of this program:

http://www.bikemetro.com/

Well, before the website short-circuited anyway.

I've ridden the Santa Ana River Trail many times, so you may have seen me. More than likely, you've left me in the dust, as I have been passed by a whole bunch of people on road bikes, and some on mountain bikes and hybrids. I'm the fat Chinese guy with glasses in a gray fleece jacket and swimming trunks, trying to haul ass on an old blue 10-speed road bike with suicide levers on the tops of the drop handlebars. Well, I was anyway, until the bicycle's rear wheel broke enough spokes to toss the rig away.

Currently, I'm without a bicycle

Hey guys, I am Brian. I just got my first road bike, '06 Specialized Allez Elite, and have been riding now for a few weeks. I live in Irvine so I have only rode around central Irvine and also the back bay. I think I have seen several BF members along the back bay trails, possibly Voltman a couple times. Since I am a noob I am sure I will have plenty of questions, especially about routes in the OC area. I am looking to eventually ride centuries, but for now will concentrate on not falling to the clipped in side. I will post pics of the bike tomorrow after building the 6 dollar bike stand, which I found on another BF post! Hope to see you guys around! Oh and HI ovoleg, I don't drop little kids on tricycles, I draft behind them.

My name's Mike and I live in east Palmdale. I usually ride Aliso Canyon Road and Mount Emma Road after work. On my "weekends", Monday and Tuesday, I like to head to up to the Angeles Crest near Wrightwood or go the opposite direction towards Gorman.

Hello, My name is Dave and I ride mostly in Palos Verdes. I road bike and mountain bike. Mostly do the road riding in PV. Sometimes I hit SM moutains with the moutain bike or ride the hills on the north side of the San Fernando Valley.

This forum has some good info on it. I found it trying to search for stuff on the Mulholland century ride in two weeks, which I'm signed up for.

Go to B2B thread and read Post #1. Now, don't irritate me, or I'm putting you back on ignore.

Hi all,
Ok, I'm not from Southern California, but I used to live in the Pasadena area back in the 80's and 90's, where I got my start in cycling. I currently live in Santa Clara, but I do visit So Cal about once a month.

I recently completed my first double this year, in Solvang. I've been browsing the threads here on the So Cal forums, and didn't realize I was riding part ways with some of the members on the Solvang Double. What a small world it is.

So, can I be considered an honorary So Cal BF'er? Because of this, I think I've got the double bug!

Well, if you decide to do Hemet, Ron, let me know. It is supposed to be the flatest double and a little boring. I'm not concerned about the urban aspect and look forward to checking it out. The organizers I've heard are very nice and supportive to the riders. I'm riding with Magicant, another rider whom you may remember at the top of Drum. He's a very strong rider and great company - the kind who never seems to tire and stays jovial for all 200 miles.

Ok, if I do, it will probably be a last minute thing. I'll let you know.

I know my friend Lynn will be there. She's another hall of famer ... an ADO. One of those crazies, training for PBP, so she's gotta pound out the miles.

I've heard of Lynn, actually. I'm going to go ride with those ADO guys one of these days (other than just running into them on doubles). They're such a nice group albeit mile junkies! (which isn't such a bad thing)

I call her "Pocket Rocket". I was actually able to ride with the gang once, and it was not even a century! It was kind of a "welcome back to riding" for Renee. I guess she had an accident, and this was a ride, for support of her, getting back on the road again. Everyone was there ... Lynn, Roland, Clem, John, Big Ring Dave, Frank ... not sure if the other Ron was there.

If you haven't checked out their web site, you should. It's www.adogang.org. It's down currently, but when it's back up, you should check it out. It also has a cute video of Ron on his commute into work, via the river trail.
