Chelsea, and no, I'm not a fan LOL
I miss Chelsea...I took a family vacation a few years back and we stayed in a flat on Franklin's Row/Royal Hospital Road, adjacent to a private football pitch. Took the tube from Sloane Square to all the attractions (read: pubs), and it was so nice to sleep in a place with a kitchen and some space...as opposed to an inn or something.

Hey, I'm Steve. Live in Palos Verdes and do most of my riding around that area. A couple years ago, I successfully rationalized my way into buying a Ti Carl Strong frame, and built it up w/Chorus. I doubt that my questionable fitness and meager riding skills do the frame justice, but, being a clyde, it's great to have a bike that's stiff in the BB yet doesn't rattle fillings loose on those long rides. It's nice to see P.V. and some of its climbs mentioned here. Ganado seems to be a favorite, deservedly. Those that like Ganado may want to try Crownview (off P.V. Drive East) or Silver Arrow (off Silver Spur) if they haven't already. There's some 15% and above on both of those. Hope to see you out there.

Fast Eddie, you know Asia! Post away Homie!!!!
RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLD IT!
Hola to all of you SoCali's!! Thanks for letting me join the fun!
I go by Eddie (or my professional name, Ed). I live in Vegas, not quite SoCal, but close enough to count I guess. In short, I love to ride! And I ride a ton, 8500 miles in '06 and around 7000 so for this year. I race a bit, mostly in road races that involve climbing. I love the organized centurys or doubles too.
I ride all over Las Vegas and Henderson with my favorite places being Lake Mead and Red Rock. I ride in Cali as well, my bro lives in Orange County and I visit him several times during the year and of course my bike accompanies me! One of my fav's in that area is Santiago Cyn and Trabuco Cyn (I think that is what its called).
I love meeting and riding with new people. I look forward to doing that with some of you.
Life is too short to not have fun every day! (and its also too short to live it with hairy legs!)
Hey Eddie.. nice bike! Nothing like a shiny black S-Works, eh?
Welcome Steve! I hope you can join us on the South Bay Fun Ride in October
Thanks for the welcome!! I am pretty harmless myself...just ask Cyn!!
I am definately interested! Climbing?........mount up!
I will be there Friday morning thru Sunday evening. When are you riding?
Well, this weekend I'm not doing the long climbing rides as I have obligations both days. So, I'm riding both Sat/Sun, starting in the dark. This is so I can be done before noon both days. As for the AC ride that I hope you'll join on, we are mulling over Oct/Nov dates. I'm going to get that thread up and going and I hope you, Cyn, Asia, Travis, Laura, Karen and the rest of the Vegas beautiful ones will join.
Too bad your busy...would have been nice to ride with a SoCal hottie for a day or two! I will be riding Saturday and probably Sunday morning....alone....unless enticed by someone else to join in!
I am interested in the Angeles Crest ride...I'll watch for the post.
If you don't mind Long Beach try here. Longterm bike storage is $12 per month or $96 per year...
May you live long, live strong, and live happy!
I started biking to work at Irvine to replace the boredom I get off the thread mill.
I started this Jan with my mtn bike, then at May....I switched to Roadie
Welcome Aero! Nice rig you have there!
since I had a recent crash with my Tarmac and bent the 105 shifters..I just ordered Dura Ace shifters =x
Welcome Aerodee80 - nice pic of the bike and nice pic of the rider too.
Hey Guys!!! I'm new on bf and would like to introduce myself. I live in Van Nuys and work in Culver City. I rode throughout my adolescence and what to pick it up again. I'm purchasing a fs trail mtb for now, and within a couple of months I'm going to purchase a road bike as well.
Just wanted to put myself out there as a new rider willing to travel for a nice ride with a cool group. I'm 25, in decent shape, but obviously I'm going to take things slow at first to get back in the swing of things and avoid injury. If anyone has a group that does some trails let me know!!!
Hello fellow So-cal'ers... My name is Dennis. I'm located in east Hollywood(santa monica & gower) I've been lurking BF on and off for a few months now; but I'll keep this post kinda short and sweet. Sooo.... I usually spend my time riding to work/grocery shopping/other misc. errands. But i sometimes take longer treks to the Union Station downtown, or to Venice beach; sometimes even Santa Monica if I'm up for it. I've been out west since summer of last year, which was right after i graduated high school. Yup, i'm a youngin' at 19 years of age. Back home in NY, i rode a ton of BMX, and dabbled in some mountain biking on trails when i had the chance. Since moving out here, i stopped the BMXing, and picked up road biking for school/work. Love it. I actually prefer to ride on my days off aimlessly around town with no destination. Hmm, what else... I don't know too many people out here in general(none that ride, really), but would love to meet some people to do some riding with; especially some that would love to take some trips down to the beach. I actually don't mind riding alone(or i guess i'm just used to it by now?) but i doubt riding with some people could be any worse. So, i guess that about does it for my introduction. Not sure how much posting I'll actually do after this, but for what it's worth, this is me.
oh, also, i guess what i more importantly should have mentioned; i have an older Schwinn World Sport, Jamis hardtail MTB, and a still in progress Bianchi Pista '06. I haven't rode fixed all too much, but will be learning more and more once the Pista is in good enough shape for it.
