Hey everybody! I'm Dylan Roberts, from Santa Paula, Ventura County. I've been a bike rider for all my life, but got into road cycling about 3 years ago, I have completed one century (up highway 33) and plenty of various rides around where I live. I haven't ever had time for long rides that last more than one day, as I have school and no money at the moment to pay for those rides. I love to ride whenever I can and I hope to meet some of you along the way!

Hey everyone, my name's Ben and I live in Visalia, CA. I guess it's barely Southern vs Northern CA... I'm an engineer at Hellwig Products making leaf springs, sway bars, air bag kits, etc for truck, RVs and muscle cars. I've always ridden some to commute (since about 3rd grade) and in college got into downhill in San Luis Obispo. Now that I'm out where it's flat I have caught the road bike bug hardcore. I bought a CAAD 10 in May and have over 1000 miles on it already. Going to do the SLOBC Lighthouse Century 9/28 and ride with some friends SLO to SB in October. Otherwise I ride in the Sequoia foothills, around the valley, out by San Luis Obispo and out by Tahoe...
My bike on Barker Pass over Tahoe
This is me and yes, I am into the offoad thing too (remember, I'm an automotive suspension engineer)

Hi my name is David from Long Beach and I love to ride, getting ready to ride southbound to wherever my legs and/or my will takes me. Hope to hook up with my fellow cyclist out on the road.

good monday morning!
did my first group ride sat morning. there are three ride groups that leave the local trader joes at 7:45am (easy pace), 8:00am (moderate pace), 8:20am (fast pace). i missed the 7:45 group by a few mins, but was encouraged to ride the peloton on the 8am group, approx 75+ riders. hung in there for about 13 miles after which i got dropped and hung up on the wrong side of the lights. the peloton disappeared into the bowels of irwindale/san dimas. no chance to catch up as i had no idea of the area or the route, and not able to keep pace at this time. had lunch with some nice folks from the 745 group at heirloom bakery. good conversation, heard the story of the rider who got taken away on a stretcher....bike/bike encounter. turned out being a 40mile day average speed 16-17 for me.
lessons for the day -
1) bring bananas and gu type stuff. also need endurance drink in bottles.
2) need proper riding clothing gear. got caught out in the mid-day heat/sun with early morning gear.
3) dont blink, and get stuck out behind the peloton.
looking forward to next sat ride!
ps - yes i pose. you should see me do it.

The ride isn't that fast, once you ride more and more often you'll be able to hang on no problem!
Welcome to group riding its a blast! Stay safe!

I was on the "fast" ride and saw the two dudes collide. I'm not sure if it was just user error or what went down because the guy on the right swerved WAY hard to avoid an obstacle on the road. He pretty much rammed the other dude and they went flying.

where was the collision you are referring to? sounds like there was a bit of action out there saturday, the accident i am referring to was in the first ride group (endurance) and rider was female. either way ride safe and see you out there!

Hi So Cal people! I am Jaemie and I ride in the Orange County area. SART, SGRT, and on the road along the coast and into the hills. Currently on a Specialized Dolce Comp as I await the arrival of my new ride. Looking to learn a lot on bikeforums and meet some new people!

My name is Mark and I'm new to the area, arriving from SoOR just before the new year. My riding, as it was in Medford/Ashland, is almost exclusively Commute! My current commute is just over 9 miles each way (Upland/Pomona/Upland). It's really my workout I guess. I have only one century under my belt and I'm open to suggestions on fun rides in and around the area. I ride a flat black Specialized Tricross. If you see me, wave -- I hate to be left hanging.

Currently training for a duathlon here. I usually do a 30 miles ride and 7 miles run on Saturday morning around Orange County (Anaheim, Garden Grove, HB) area. It can get pretty lonely just training by myself. Anyone interested joining a bike ride on Saturday early morning?

New to riding and I usually ride in and around Irvine / Tustin Ranch after work. Due to the sun setting sooner now and days' I've been packing the bike up and riding the back bay trail directly from the office after work before it gets too dark. I had no clue that trail existed and it seems to be a riders heaven, except for all the other riders using it lol.

I'm James Yang. I'm a Cat 3 road racer that loves to do everything by bike! I live a car light lifestyle-- I commute to work and do most things locally by bicycle. I have more miles on my bicycle than my car. I also am the retail store manager for Sho-Air Cyclery in Orange. If anyone needs anything bike related, I can help you out.
This is me at the Mike Nosco ride this year:
And here's a comic strip that I feel describes my life style choices:

Hey all,
Name is Brian, I been cycling ever since last year. I started cycling around July of 2014. I would cycle after work around my area (Torrance) then weekends in the morning. I would go beach and try to do at least 20miles or so. Since I get off work at 5pm, I haven't been riding on weekdays because of the lack of sunlight. So I would do it on weekends. I did stopped for a month or so over the holiday weekend and I regret doing that. Had to basically get my body back into it again.
Anyways, I plan to do more cycling this year. Perhaps double my mileage and what not. I live in Torrance and I don't have much friends that cycles. So I would always go alone... so yeah not much motivations. But i'm trying! I've always wanted to cycle through PV and what not... but i'm sure those uphills will kill me. And that's where I'm trying to achieve.
Would be nice to meet some people in my area that cycles... perhaps learn a few things from you guys.
Here's a pic of my Giant Defy... Instagram
