Hey all,
Name is Brian, I been cycling ever since last year. I started cycling around July of 2014. I would cycle after work around my area (Torrance) then weekends in the morning. I would go beach and try to do at least 20miles or so. Since I get off work at 5pm, I haven't been riding on weekdays because of the lack of sunlight. So I would do it on weekends. I did stopped for a month or so over the holiday weekend and I regret doing that. Had to basically get my body back into it again.
Anyways, I plan to do more cycling this year. Perhaps double my mileage and what not. I live in Torrance and I don't have much friends that cycles. So I would always go alone... so yeah not much motivations. But i'm trying! I've always wanted to cycle through PV and what not... but i'm sure those uphills will kill me. And that's where I'm trying to achieve.
Would be nice to meet some people in my area that cycles... perhaps learn a few things from you guys.
Here's a pic of my Giant Defy... Instagram

Bikes: Felt F75(2014), Specialized Langster(2009). In the past I have owned a 2013 Felt F5 and a Schwinn Phocus 1400. I'm still looking for my stolen Giant Revel 1.

I'm not working right now so I ride when and where I want
I ride around Cowel's mountain in Santee/San Diego.
Prospect - Cuyamaca - Fletcher Pkwy - Navajo Rd - Jackson Dr - Mission Gorge Rd - Fanita a big circle.
12.85 miles takes me about an hour. Two major hills, fletcher and mission.

Cool, I'll see you then. I'll be heading to Seal beach in the morning, through SGRT, then head on PCH all the way to SART back home.

SDBC speaks of 'Fiesta Island' on the home page of 'SDBC.'
But 'SDBC' has no actual interest in advocacy of 'Fiesta Island' --- as a source for cyclists.

Hi Everyone!
K here. I began cycling about a month ago when I purchased my first hybrid bicycle. I needed an alternative to running because I began to experience knee pain during my runs and cycling is perfect! I have been riding the paths in the area around Corona Del Mar and Balboa Island. Looking forward to riding the Back Bay trail soon!

Hello
My name is Mike and I've been riding consistently for coming up on three years. It all started with commuting to work when I moved and ended up only 4 miles from my office. Started on my old college single speed Univega then got an older Allez and now recently picked up a Lemond Victoire titanium. I mostly ride from SB south or into the hills around here. Every once and awhile I'll travel to do rides like the Solvang century.

I've been cycling and commuting on a fixed gear for about a month now. I'm from Anaheim, and I gotta say I love riding here and the cities around here. Pretty good roads and the drivers aren't so bad. Most of them will move a lane away or are okay with riding next to you.

I've been riding mountain and road bikes all my life. About a year ago I started restoring an Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra as a Molteni replica with a modern drive train. I love steel bikes. I ride around Murrieta.

Hi all!
I'm Cynthia, in NoHo. Super new to riding (been 30 years since I last had a bike) and looking for nice LONG low-traffic trails and such for Saturday morning rides. The Chandler bike path is a little short/boring. I ride a 2015 Trek FX 7.3, and my roommate rides a PK Ripper.

Hello, Joe here. I ride around Ventura County on my Vintage Steel Road bikes. I don't ride fast by today's standards , but I keep a pretty good , steady pace. I live in Santa Paula and sometimes on the weekend I ride to Ventura and back or sometimes the Ojai trail.

Cormac here. Long Beach. Just got my first road bike last year. I've done LBC <-> Huntington Beach a few times for a 30-mile loop, some similar-length rides up to Lakewood and around there a bit, but nothing longer. I also commute (usually short, sub-5) to the gym, grocery store, etc. on my beater / Frankenbike.
I'm moving to Portland in the fall, and I'll be doing my first century when I get there, so I need to start working some longer rides. If anyone has suggestions for routes that don't have miles of stop-and-go before I hit an open road, I'd love to hear them.

I'm Kyle. I've been mountain and road cycling on and off for about 4-5 years now. His past November I started taking it more seriously and putting in some miles. I ride in San Diego, mostly in the eastern part of the county.

I'm Dave
I ride around most of San Diego, especially the coast from La Jolla to Oceanside, the hills of Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Mira Mesa. Also been seen in Santee, El Cajon, La Mesa, Hillcrest. Rode almost 7000 miles last year. On my way to doing that, if not more, this year. Doing the AIDS / LIFECYCLE ride again on June 5th, riding 550 miles from SF to LA, over 7 days and 6 nights. Even when this is over with, I still plan to do a lot of riding. I'm hooked

Fletcher... on the El Cajon side of Navajo? That's the only Hill I can think of there.
Around Fanita/ Weld, have you tried the Windmill View Loop? That one is a doozy.... Then you get this wonderful downhill on Swallow, down to Cuyamaca

I'm Don, a recent retiree and transplant from Corning, NY.
I got back into cycling in 2001 as you can see from my list of bikes. I was fairly active, going out 1-3 times per week. When I lived in Taiwan, I often road to work once or twice a week. I sold the Giant and bought the Ritchey to make traveling easier. Our expatriate arrangement was that we got to come home for 2 weeks every 3 months or so. I didn't want to buy 2 bikes and have one sit for 3 months at a time. The Ritchey BreakAway made the trips a lot easier and it rode and handled like a regular bike.
From 2013 my riding slacked off to just a handful of rides per year. Part of the logic for moving to the Coachella Valley was being able to ride year round. Unfortunately the BreakAway I mentioned got stolen a couple of months ago. I had the same guy that built it in 2005 build me a new one. But, this time I opted for the carbon frame instead of the previous steel one. Stayed with the Chorus 11-spd drivetrain, but the wheels, saddle and computer were upgraded. It arrived about 2 weeks ago and I'm really liking it!! I need to make it a point to add it to my list. I just got back from today's ride about an hour ago. Very Windy this afternoon...
So far, I've just been riding around Cathedral City and Rancho Mirage. Depending upon time of day, many of the streets are not heavily used. For some reason, I like to just leave the house and ride instead of taking the bike in the car to someplace. So, I guess we'll see what developes...

Hi I'm Rob. haven't been on the road bike in a while (Kestrel 200sci) I have found touring is great and love heading out the door to see what's around on a Surly LHT. My first tour part 1, was a M.B to Dodge City. Ks part 2 of that ride ended early due to achilles problem.
Currently planning to see if I can head UP the Coast ( I know the wrong direction by most people's way of thinking ) to see how far I can get in about a month.. I have the youngest of four graduating mid May from Chico so that would cause the stoppage.
This is me tour 1 headed through the desert not sure where this was, FOUND it I was in New Mexico when I was headed Santa Fe.The "Sisters Of Charity Historical Marker"
Anyway glad to learn from you all .
Thanks
Rob
