For the first 80 miles, I'm probably faster than you. After that, who know how I'll hold up.

Nice ride, cook your legs right off the bat on Latigo and use what's left of them
to cover the last 115 miles. Nice leisurely Sunday. Ha!
Any plan for identifying marks for BF riders. Can't do red stars on number plates since LAW
doesn't issue them for their rides.
How about black jerseys with red stars?

Didn't mean to scare anybody. I usually ride Latigo flat out as part of a loop I do fairly often.
It's 11 miles of nice varied terrain. My first time riding the GT Lite, I rode the Latigo part like I usually
do and that's just stupid when you've got over a hundred miles left to do.
For ID purposes I'll be in a plain orange jersey (it'll do until the BF jerseys happen) on a custom steel,
painted green and silver.

Cali,

I'm hurt I was the third post in and you don't have me listed for the double metric. I will definitely be there. After doing the century for the last 2 years and doing the double metric at The Grand Tour, this route is a favorite. It looks like we have enough people to register for a discount. Have you registered yet?

Are we thinking of doing a group registration? Or should I just go ahead and register?

We can register as a group online, so I see no reason not to do the group registration seeing as we'll almost certainly have more than 5 riders from BikeForums.

jschen,

I totally agree with Cali, this ride is not that difficult, Latigo is a nice climb, and the views are great. I can only imagine that since when I climbed it in June the lower 2/3 was in the clouds. The lifts to Baldy are much tougher.

This was the first double metric that I had ever done and at the end I felt like I could still ride another 30-40 miles. Maybe I might have to try some double centuries next year. Cali & Lance are you up for some double centuries next year.

Ok, this one sounds fun. Is there a route guide anywhere? Anyone up for carpooling from San Diego? I can carry 3 bikes, 7 if I throw the roof rack on, but that's pushing it. If you know the route, could you post it on a site like routeslip? Thanks!

Mark, carpooling sounds great, but you sure you wouldn't mind waiting around for someone who might roll in an hour or two after you?

I really need to get around to registering for this ride. I keep putting it off.

Looks like I'm gonna be real last minute on this one as we have so many family things coming up. I'm considering the metric but also hatching an idea about meeting up with the group out on PCH someplace and riding with you through the canyons. Then when you drop back to Westlake, I can cruise back to my house without having to burn the entire day.

Now, someone have a route sheet from last time so I can see where this is headed? What time will everyone be leaving the Malibu start point?

Hmmm for me to do this means I've got to CLIMB out of the Conejo, up Rock Store and down something. Sure not going to go over Malibu Canyon...maybe I should sleep in instead!

Route sheets? We don't need no steenkin route sheets. Actually, a profile of this thing would be cool, don't want to show up with the wrong bike. Oh, we doing the century, or metric double?

I don't have an official profile or anything but I can't think of any climb greater than 6%. There are two steep descents, but all gradual ascents.
