Can it be? A Sunday ride? Oh crud... Extort and OC's big ride is on Oct 14. Umm, if I decide I haven't had enough riding after their ride, is there day-of registration? Hmm... let's see...

The website suggests the metric is on Saturday, and the half metric is on Sunday. I'm not driving all the way out there for a half metric. The metric on Sunday appears to only be for people who do the time trial on Saturday. Oh well, whatever... I'd probably be beat after Extort and OC's ride anyway.

if you look at the brochure (click on brochure link) you see that the road rides are indeed on sunday..

and no... anyone can sign up for just the time trial... or just the road rides or both...

ya... their site is confusing... their brochure is better....

Okay, the registration form confirms what caligurl said. The above link is just kind of confusing since it lists things in columns, with apparently a Saturday column and a Sunday column.

Sounds kind of fun, but probably too much for the day after Extort and OC's ride. Unless of course someone offers me a tow rope.

Would you be willing to wait around for me and make sure I don't die? Or better yet just toss me that tow rope?

As I posted in the other thread, if Vicki and I don't do the half metric in Ventura the week before, we may drive down after Hilly's soccer game on Sat and ride on Sunday. We won't know for several weeks though. Could be fun....

Tracy, my sister Tracy asked about you yesterday. Don't worry about a bit of time off the bike. You'll get back to form in no time.

I'm still not sure about this ride. It's a Sunday ride (yay), but it's also the day after Baldy Challenge. I think I may need you or caligurl to carry a tow rope if I were riding.

Well tell Tracy HELLO for me! I'm not going to have much ride time at all for the next 3-4 months though... so I'll just treat this ride as a long training ride and probably do it at a pokey pace. I'm fine w/that and am just happy that I'm getting the ride in at all at this point!

You did those two rides back to back that weekend we did the SART trail.... you can do this one... come on, sign up!!!!

t~

ps. I already signed up... the golf course is closed for 6 weeks after next weekend so DH will just be acting like a wienie if he won't hang w/the wild things!

Tracy, you had (and hopefully have) pretty decent form. A steady 90 RPM cadence without needing a cyclocomputer to give you feedback and steady power output hour after hour.

After the Pie ride in January, I could barely walk. I don't see how Baldy Challenge will be any different. We'll see how Grand Tour Lite goes first. It's not as hilly as Baldy Challenge, but it's longer. If I'm not in terrible pain the day afterward, then maybe I'll sign up for Palm Springs.

I asked caligurl this. She never responded. So are you willing to make sure I don't die? Someone will have to promise to make sure I don't die if I'm going to commit to doing this ride before having finished Grand Tour Lite.
