Just wanted to chime in - the Solvang Prelude was GREAT! Volunteers were helpful, the weather was absolutely PERFECT, and the ride itself was up and down, easy then hard - wonderful variety. AND, riding past the vinyards and Apple orchards was serene. Great ride.

hey thx scootcore for the map,

there were at least 3 times during the ride where I got confused about the route,

especially that turn to go up Figueroa mtn road (by the Sag stop) I was thinking "ah no way..."

your map shows that it was actually an out n back, wonder if they turned around at the gates to Neverland ranch

hey man...the turnaround was at some winery, not neverland, although that woulda been kinda cool. it was pretty much all up, but only about 2%, nothing too bad. we only had one time that we got kind confused but just for a sec....

I just got back. The Solvang Prelude was fantastic, add to it the Delta IV launch and Village Days at the La Purisma Mission and it was a spectacular weekend. I was a great ride, beautiful surroundings, and almost no stop signs or signals. My friend said that he enjoyed the ride so much that he would do it alone. That's a pretty high compliment from a mountain biker who was cajoled into getting a road bike.

Does anyone know the status of the downed rider on initial out & back? We headed out at 7:45 AM. At about the 4.3 mile point there was a rider in the ditch. It appeared that they had gone off the outside of the curve. The rider was laying in the ditch. The front wheel of their bicycle was taco'd.

The launch went off at the beginning of the window -- 5:52 AM. It was spectacular.

MErider wants to kill Scootcore (okay, not really, but, Bill, why??? ). I have begged these men to not post full-on shots of my bodaciously ample booty (i.e. large a*s) on here. But low and behold, I opened this and almost passed out. Please, guys, have pity on me. You can post me looking fat in any other pose, but just, please, please, please, not the butt.

With that being said, thank you, Dial Tone. And you're a sweetie.

You guys, I'm realizing what an a** I'm being! Bill, please leave them and thank you for taking them! I'm just a stupid female. Besides, like I reported, I had such a great time with Bill and the others! And thank you, ladies. I'll knock that kind of talk off in the future as it is so annoying.

Back at you, Trac. I do believe Dauphin was commenting on that as well. It is annoying, especially to men. They are much more cavalier about that sort of thing. And funny, I don't judge others the way I do myself. I like all shapes and sizes.

Thank you, Sean. By the way, you missed a lovely ride! We had perfect weather. But I know that's a distance to drive for you.

Did you get what you needed done? I find that on the weekends that I skip riding to get caught up, I rarely do what I need to do.
