    cool breeze vs. MS centuries

Has anyone done both the Cool Breeze and the MS 150 centuries? Im just looking for a difficulty comparison. Im asking cuz Im wondering if I can hang with the MS century a week after doing the Tour de Poway -- if the MS century is comparable to CB, it weighs in favor of doing both MS and Poway. If its much harder, then I may just do the non-century version of the MS ride.

    Thanks!

There are stats on the MS website, but think of it this way. 60 miles on day 1 is 2600 feet of gain, add the century route and increase the gain by 2400 feet. the second day is like 1000 feet of gain, half of that in one hill.

I have not done the CB ride though...

The MS route has more climbing which isn't that significant except 50% of the total 4700' of climbing happens between mile 65 and 85. The CB century is mostly flat/down hill/tailwind from the lunch stop. Also if there is a head wind going south on PCH like there was last year you'll be wiped when you hit the climbs... I was!

    Total ascent
Cool breeze: 3500+ (from the web site, but I remember it being ~4200. I did the double this year so I don't have the exact stats.... anyone?)
    MS150:
    First 58: 2,288
    Last 47: 2,463
    Total: 4,751

but if you did the Cool Breeze you'll probably have no problem with the MS ride.

BTW: you can get more info on the MS ride here: http://www.ms150biketour.net

Hmmm, an interesting suggestion. I guess we have 4 options (century or non-century, 2 rides). Just gotta figure out the perfect combo.
