I feel this thread slipping away.

IMO close it before it gets too far. We already know which one.

Btw, how's this thread gonna go? Are we gonna get the one with the most votes or all that has enough votes for a minimum?

I HATE the red star, but I am bending to the will of others, try it.

If no one is willing to come forward to do all the work, and I believe it will be a ton of work, then we will just do without. But if someone needs and wants help, they could ask for it and would probably get it. With all the time some people spend on this forum, there just has to be people out there with the spare time needed for this project.

I believe that the colors will be only part of what makes ordering a "NIGHTMARE", what about all the other options, (long sleeve short sleeve, full zipper, 3/4 zipper, race cut, and on and on and on) why not eliminate all those options as well.

Sorry for the rant, I just spent the evening with 250 other soccer refs in a meeting that had me contemplating suicide.
Just to be to clear:

The purpose of this thread is simply to decide which black jersey we will produce. And as it's turning out, we may produce more than one black jersey scheme. (Cali, I hate to say it, but I think you're unanimously outnumbered on this )

This does not mean that we can't/won't produce alternate color schemes in addition. But, in an effort to make this process somewhat methodical (there's infinite color combinations possible), we're doing one thing at a time. Black was by far the most popular from the other thread, so we're starting with that.

As mentioned in post #1, "If you would prefer an alternate color scheme, feel free to indicate so. We may do an alternate color IN ADDITION if there's enough interest - in which case we'd hold another vote after we're done here."

And, yes, we ARE treating the other options (s/s, l/s, full zip, 3/4) the same way as the alternate colors. That is, we are NOT addressing that now. But, we will get to it later. One thing at a time.

But, until then, no more posting blue jerseys or other such blasphemy. This thread is all about THE BAD GUYS IN TOP GUN. Focus!

The dream isn't gone nor is this thread slipping away. Simply, chimivee has presented us w/ enough cool options that we now have enough interest for 2 orders of the planned back/red themed jersey --- 1 for #2 and one for #3, heck, maybe even #4 is at 10 has met the minimum as well. There were even some that mentioned that they'd consider buying one of each.

chimivee, if it's decided that we're ordering 2 different black/red designs, then I'll volunteer to help you if needed.

That's the name of my next album.

Btw, I didn't mean to be pushy. I just want to see this finished so we can vote on a SoCal KoM Jersey.

(I just opened a can of worms there)

You have to complete the Breathless Agony, Devil Mountain Double, the Son of Death Ride, and the Everest Challenge in one year. If you can do all that, then we will award you with a jersey with little red stars instead of spots and an Elvis over the heart.

'Cause the King will have been reborn when this is accomplished.

James, you realize that if you let the voting go on forever, it will in fact go on forever.

Maybe there should be a clearly stated end date for voting. This would have two obvious benefits: (1) ending the voting and allowing us to move onto the next step, and (2) reducing the chance of someone not being able to vote because he/she didn't know the voting was coming to an end.

Just thinking out loud.

Or...how about calling it now and start taking orders for #2 & #3? In fact, we could even take orders for #4 and if we don't get 10, those people will need to either choose another one or bail.

Tell you what, I'll be happy to take the order details from the BFers. That way we can get a sanity check on the totals, club vs. race, zip options, etc. From there we can figure out how to process the payments, how much shipping will be, etc. I'm not sure the best way to do it but my guess is something like PayPal.

I'm ready to write a check today. #3 is my pick, but I can live with #2. Who do I make the check out to and how much is it? I can make it out for $50 just to get things moving. If it's more than that I'll write another one for the difference.

But it's so entertaining!

Yeah, I was trying to think when to end this. Seems like no new votes have come in today. [EDIT: I see TCR voted this morning] But, I only put the page up yesterday. I suppose we could end voting tomorrow morning? That will have given everyone 48 hrs.

Wow, everybody is so anxious.

CJBruin - Thanks for offering to do the order taking. I've got no problem with that, myself.

Also, OCRoadie has kindly offered to handle the shipping.

But, before the orders start coming in, we also have the matter of alternate (non-black) colors, matching shorts, etc. Lots of opinions on this, so I'll let you guys decide how you want to handle this.

And whatever happens, I'll still need to work with Champion on submitting/finalizing/approving any artwork. I ordered samples on Monday. I requested full size runs, but I'm not sure I'll get it.

Hi James,

Since you got this whole thing started and now that we have 150 posts on this thread, why don't you make a final decision based on your good artistic taste. IMHO, only a few people who feel really strongly about the design (outer edges of the bell curve ) will opt out of buying. The vast majority of us will buy whatever you pick because it will give us another way to feel part of this fun group.

Just my 2 cents.
