Thanks Alice! Actually, I had forgotten that.

So, there you go, The Meet Alice Strong Ride has been changed from SART to SGRT (San Gabe River Trail) on a date still to be announced.

What date would be good for you Alice? Weekend would be best I'd think. And what cross-street on the SGRT? I don't know it that well, but I could figure it out (probably). How 'bout where the SGRT meets the Coyote Creek MUP?

Coyote Creek is my closest MUP connector to the SGRT. But whatever, I'm flexible. A fixed gear ride, okay? If you don't have a fixed gear bike, just whatever is fine.

I rode with alicestrong just once, on the 2008 Randy Simmons LAPD Memorial Ride across the valley.
And I last saw Caligurl on the 2007 Cruisin' the Conejo Ride.

I've ridden with roadfix (though he wasn't on his fixed gear at the time . . . Latigo Canyon) and Caligurl several times . . . but never with Alice Strong!

Thinking, thinking...about herding cats! Isn't that what Cassave called putting a ride together! Oh Cassave, somebody I always wanted to meet!

Yes, I have met Cassave . . . he builds beautiful bikes!

So, planning a cat herd . . . er, bike ride, the First Thing is we need a place to meet. You say you are an SGRT girl, so okay!

I am more of a Coyote Creek kind of guy, so how 'bout this ride starts from the intersection of SGRT and Coyote Creek MUPs? Or is that too far southwest for you? If so, pls. advise your most favorite alternate somewhere along the SGRT.

Then we can progress to Thing Two, which would be . . . what time? Your call 'cause any time is fine with me. 8:00AM would be civilized time for most SoCal MUP-sters, but whatever sounds good to you.

I've never been on the SGRT too much towards the mountains, so we could head in that direction or go southwest and throw in some PCH, maybe down to the SART where we could (maybe) meet up with the Beanz. Have you ever met Mr. Beanz and Gina?

Hey, we ride SGRT on special occasions, Duarte to Seal Beach. We were supposed to ride with Alice few years ago.

Good question! I used to see her quite often on the "event" climbing rides like Ride Around the Bear and Breathless Agony, plus I'd see her on training rides on GMR/GRR with her husband (Chris), but I haven't seen her or heard from her in several years now.

I think she and Chris lived in Yucaipa; maybe they still do?

Okay, so yes, Beanz whistles . . . I don't have a problem with that. Esp. since he whistles for Alice!

So how 'bout The bikeforum.net Socal Ride to Meet Alice on Sat. June 16th starting from the intersection of SGRT and Coyote Creek MUP's at 8:00 AM and going toward the mountains until we get tired and/or find someplace to stop and eat.

All SoCal forumites invited! I'll ride my fixed gear bike since it has a bell (note: not two bells like Alice's bike) to ward off evil mupsters.

Is that good for you Alice? If not, pls. advise better date/time for you.

Rick is the meeting place that bridge that connects Coyote Creek MUP over to El Dorado Park? I'll be there sans bells.

Yes, cdp8, at least that's my idea, but I'm open to anywhere that Alice likes. I should also point out that there's still plenty of time left for you to purchase an attractive and toneally pleasing bell for your bike!

Good seeing you on Breathless Agony!

That was my suggestion but we haven't heard from Alice yet, so it's all on hold until we hear from Alice Strong.

Would some other day/date be better for you Alice?

Sounds perfect Alice! What time to depart from Legg Lake? Should we bring food along or are we stopping to eat when we get to Seal Beach?

This is exciting! Can't wait to meet Alice Strong!

Yes and No . . . it's a matter of how you look at it. The "event" which is the ride is still happening.

However, Alice has informed me (via facebook) that she will not be able to attend; so the "meeting of Alice Strong" has been delayed; for how long, I don't know.

Since Alice won't be there, I've changed my plans and will now be doing the Chuck Bramwell/OCW Palomar Century instead.

That said, I would still very much like to meet Alice Strong at some later date.
