SoCal, October 14th, 2006 ride....

this is a 'Save the Date' thread for the Mt. Baldy Challenge.

OC Roadie and I had spoken in a thread about running the Baldy Challenge again. If you remember, he and I did this ride last year and it ended up being 104 degrees in the village and we could not hit the ski lifts...
Original Baldy Challenge

This is a very challenging ride, but as this is mid October we should not have to deal with the heat or cold and can complete this ride in style.

Possible Attendees:
Extort
OC Roadie
Dog Hair
jschen
Fixer
TCR
adxm
chimivee
1955

Look what I found on my computer! the route slip!

Oooohhhhh another ride!!!! I'll have to see what you guys decide on. I don't think I'm ready for mountain climbing yet. I keep meaning to read the Pie Ride thread... at least to see what the route was!

Cool, I'll mark the date on the calendar, and hope that it stays there I vote for the Baldy century, I've been wanting to do that one all year, plus it's closer (sorry San Diego folks ). Somewhere I've still got our route slip, I think I have it as an Excel file too. I just remembered I need to donate to your MS ride, good chance to tell everyone else that they should help out too Take Care...

Count me in. I reserve the right to back out if backing out allows the group to finish 1+ hours faster (if I'm way slower than everyone else).

So you would do the ride if I promise to stick with you?

Tiff, I'll dig up the link to the Pie Ride thread later today.

It won't be like that, well maybe on the climbs There will be plenty of regrouping, we were pretty successful of keeping together and regrouping on the Pie Ride, until we started running out of daylight.

No kidding. These guys are already light years faster than me and to top it off, every time I see them I seem to be losing ground on them. .

Despite that, I would have loved to do this ride but I'll be in New Jersey (for work) or Colorado (moving there soon). I'll have to try to find something as equally torturous and scenic (which is highly unlikely )and ride w/ you guys in spirit.
