Six weeks without my bike!! Please support me through this tough time.
On Saturday, 09-09-06, I officially commence re-training with Swift Transportation.
This means six weeks over the road with a trainer.
The driver manager in charge of training did all she could to try and find me a trainer who would let me take my Montague folder, but, sadly didn't succeed.
All I'm able to do now is brace for the "no-bike" period, until I get assigned my own bobtail semi-tractor.
Then I'll be able to bring my bike and then some.
Luckily for me though, the trainer I spoke with told me he was ex-military, and was concerned about his well-being too.
So, if I'm lucky, I'll still be able to go running, go to the gym for cross-training, and get fresh air.
Not to mention, I'll at least be able to take along my laptop, and keep in touch with everyone in here.
But, per the title of this thread, please wish me some luck during my "fast".

Good luck, and congrats on the new re-job I guess. After reading this I feel less bad about not having my bike this weekend since it is the shop.

I've actually had my CDL Class-A since August 2004.
I got it just a little after turning 21.
I drove for about a month after getting it, but the new environment sort of scared me out of the seat.
I returned to security work, performing gate control duties at a distribution center.
After having some lengthy talks with various drivers going through there for two years, I decided to jump back into the saddle. That and I also need to pay off the tuition for the company that trained me to begin with.
This is one of those things you regret doing in the first place, but you might as well get it finished while it's still fairly easy to take care of.

Thanks for the support guys, it's already making the next six weeks seem less doom and gloom.
And this is long-haul truck driving I'm doing.
It's the only way I could get enough experience to drive local if I have to.

It's mainly been power-walks, shuttle-runs, push-ups, crunches and occasional gym trips when allowable.
One week has went by and this plan seems to help alot.
One down, five to go.
And I'm typing this only due to some light wireless signals I'm picking up.
But, I'm in the sleeper right now, so don't worry.
