one more week

one more week until i have enough cash to get a bike. i can hardly contain myself. i guess i didn't realize how much i have missed it. i actually had trouble sleeping the other night because of visions of hardtails dancing in my head. geez, that sounds really neurotic, doesn't it? who cares. i was doing some research about forks (i'm kind of still learning) and it seems like i'm going to end up paying about the price of my bike for a decent fork on down the line. ah well. if i had the thousand bucks right now i would just get a better bike, so i suppose five hundred now and then five hundred later is like an installment plan. Has anybody ever been to Jensen USA? They are the only gary fisher dealer i could find out here. are gary fishers really better for tall people? some dude in the mtb are told me that. he seemed trustworthy. i suppose this is getting long............so my plan is just to go to a few shops and try some bikes and not have any pre-concieved notions about what brand i want. though the black rockhopper looks really cool. okay, i'm seriously going to stop typing rightttttttttttt.........now

I've never been to Jenson USA but have ordered a bunch of mountain components from them in the past. Their prices are very good, even on current components.

Sometimes you can get year-end deals on forks that are hundreds off the original price.
You should be excited about it! Some nights before a ride I am so keyed up I can't sleep.

I have been to Jenson USA twice. Their retail store is off to a side in their building. For bikes, they have one top & bottom shelves of bike along 1 wall, and I saw a few Gary Fisher's there.

I have never purchased a bike there; only a wheelset and a few other mtb components. They are a pretty good store, but if you are also looking for components and are the "browse around and purchase" type like me, you may be a little disappointed because their retail store does not (to me) have a lot of those on display. They will quickly walk to their storage area and get whatever you find on their website (large selection), but you have to know what you want first.

Have fun on your new bike purchase!

I've been to the Jenson USA store and it's a nice little shop. Nice helpful people there. They won't always have everything avaliable in the warehouse that you see on their website though (they have a warehouse back east somewhere too that they ship some stuff out of). Prices aren't the cheapest but aren't the most expensive, i suppose "fair" would be the best word.

Best deals on bicycles happen at the end/beginning of the year i'd guess. My friend picked up a 2005 Lemond Tourmalet earlier this year they had on clearance for almost $400 off MSRP.

I'd give them a call first before you head out to see what they have in stock or on the showroom floor.
