If you see this guy on the SART... say "hey", 'cause it's me

I've attached a few pics of the friends I ride with and one of me in case you see me on the trail you can say HI.
I'm the dork in the first pic wearing blue with the other three wearing red.

I really need to update my riding glasses don't I.

I could almost swear I saw you on the trail a week or two ago wearing that Amtrak jersey. I saw it and said, "Amtrak century".

Thanx for the pics. Now I'll know who to look for!...I just hope that monster kids doesn't come and ream me over here too!

Ralph, is Brad in any of those pics? How's he doing? And the one in the blue shirt on the third pic (leading the paceline), would that happen to be Lenny?

Hey Beanz,

We also stop at the same place at the end of the trail in HB, but we call it the Lenny stop. We park our bikes at the last wall going away from the trail and hang out there while Lenny does his thing and we BS for a while.

Hopefully the "kid" is doing his homework and stays away.

That pic was taken at the Amtrak Century by volunteers, they took some great shots (aprox. 2MB each) and you could download them for FREE!!!

Cool pic and that's so nice Ralph. I know people have to make their money, but I was a little shocked at what the photographer for Cool Breeze was charging. I want to say it was close to $18/print.

I like using Flickr to upload/share my photos from rides (if only I could get good enough to take them ON the bike) because with my upgraded membership, people have the option of downloading the high resolution originals instead of having to order prints like you have to from Shutterfly.

Hey Jason,

Yeah, that's Lenny leading the charge and if you look at the third rider back you can just see Brads face peering over Keith’s shoulder.

Now that Brad is laid up in bed, Lenny has taken over as the strongest rider in our group, when he takes off none of the rest of us can stay on his wheel for very long.

Hey Brandy,

I've never used any of the sharing sites like Flickr or Photo Bucket (I assume there kind of the same and you're talking about getting full size pics in the post?) to post pics, it's probably easy, I guess I'm just lazy. Where could I find details on how to do that and how much does it cost???

When I read that we could download any pics we wanted for free I wasn't sure to believe it at first, which was so cool of them. I've never even considered buying pics from the pros so I never looked at the prices...18 bucks, that's crazy!

PS One of the girls on my daughter’s soccer team is named Brandy. I'm kind of deaf and thought it was Randy until recently.

Ralph...just go to www.flickr.com and you can sign up for a free account there. There should be an option to upgrade to the premium membership, which is $24.99/year if I recall correctly. They say that it's a permanent archive of your pictures, so I thought it was worth it. I love that I no longer have to email people pictures as attachments and I just direct them to my flickr site instead. My parents love it because I'm horrible about getting pictures of the kids to them. I believe that the option to download the high res original is part of the premium membership.

Oh...and you don't hear the name Brandy in little girls very often anymore!

I have something like the with my SBC account through Yahoo, but the pics are so compressed that they're worthless. They end up to be about 25KB, so I stopped using it. Are these sites like that?

Thanks kid, I do appreciate that. It's really hard not to be a geek when you're 50, overweight and ride a road bike in spandex.

That's part of the reason I was calling her Randy and not Brandy, it is a pretty rare name now a days. In the late 70's and the 80's it was a biggie, maybe not a rare as Ralph, but pretty close.

Check out Brandy's blog (linked in her sig) and you can see for yourself that her pics that she loads on Flickr do not get seriously compressed.

No...go to my flickr account https://www.flickr.com/photos/cyclemama/ and click on one of the pictures. If you click on "all sizes" above the picture, it will give you an option to download the picture as square, thumbnail, small, medium, large or original, which is the same high resolution that you take the pics in.
