Really Fun Build...
So a buddy of mine -- an ex-boss -- rides but was always shy about going on a ride with me. I've since left that job for a new one, but one of my ex-employees has taken up riding (the guy I've been seen with on the SART the last two Saturdays). Finally the two of us got my ex-boss to commit to riding the SART with us, but he asked that I work on his bike for him.
I found out then why he was so shy about riding with me.
He's a full grown guy and was riding a 50cm (!) Trek 1000 circa 2 years or so ago. I have a 58cm Bianchi Brava frame (which would fit my ex-boss perfect) and my son is riding a 56cm Nishiki Altron NFS (which is too big for him). So I offered him the Bianchi in exchange for the Trek which I'll setup for my son.
So! I spent most of today working on his Bianchi. It's actually a Bianchi Brava LX frame/fork now running an SR stem and bars, Suntour brake levers, Suntour Accushift DT shifters, Shimano 600 FD/RD/cranks (with Biopace chainrings, no less) and Alex wheels. I still have to install the cassette, chain, cables, and rear brake (the calipers are the stock, "alloy" Trek 1000 calipers).
I've attached a little pic of it, I'll post actual pr0n when the bike is completed.
