Any rides planned for the 4th? The CSUN ride is listed at Classiest Calabasas, but hopefully that will get vetoed in favor of something else.

Scootcore 07-01-07 07:38 PM

i am riding to my mother in laws pool in pasadena...

Shprung 07-01-07 09:20 PM

Vance, Don't you have the regular Wed ride?
I have a bbq party to go to at 2:00pm, but I will go to csun and hopefully do the level 2 (46miles) this will give me about 60 miles with the ride from/to encino (home). If anyone cares, I mapped the 180B ride (the level 2 ride)

ovoleg 07-01-07 09:29 PM

Vance I was looking for something else either. I was talking to other riders and they said there will also be a harder ride on that day. A few are starting from a remote location near Rockstore Rd? But those were the slower guys so I'm not sure.

Whats the deal? I'm looking for a good ride on Wed, if anything I'll ride from the college but I suspect a remote start?

VanceMac 07-01-07 09:29 PM

Yea, Shai... I'm guessing there will be the regular Wed ride. But there's a lot of competition, so not sure what the turnout will be there (that's why I was asking). And sure enough, VB posted his climbing ride as option #2. And I got another mass e-mail from a club member about option #3 (7:30am from Corner Bakery at the Commons in Calabasas for about 50 miles). And of course, CSUN for option #4.

VanceMac 07-01-07 09:32 PM

By the way Ovo and Shai... I'm going to go do a couple Reseda repeats in the morning if your interested in a quick workout before work. I'm leaving my house at 8, over at the bottom of Reseda around 8:30.

I hate riding on the freeway, even though it's only a couple miles.

What yawn? Man, we were rockin on that stretch of road.

I refuse to drive anywhere on the 4th. But I'm definitely in for anything from the Commons or CSUN.
How about a nice PCH and canyons loop from the Corner Bakery?

Some of us work :(

Maybe at 6:00 am?

And not tomorrow, I need a rest day, rode 6 days straight almost now. I'm taking tomorrow off and Tuesday at 5:30pm I want to go and try that "fast" ride that starts at CSUN.

What are people planning on mostly for Wed? The faster guys/longer riding guys. CSUN?

Steve, regardless of the temperature, I definitely prefer the canyons over PCH-only. I'm up for the Commons at 7:30 optoin... maybe we can coerce a sub-group into doing the climbing option?

Well, maybe out Mulholland to PCH, stop at Neptunes Net then back PCH to Latigo or something?
Or the reverse.....

I started at the next stop sign (where the hill really starts). Maybe we can have a BF event there someday. Or better yet, a BF mountain bike ride up on those trails.

I'm not a MTB'er and I gave up after 1 ride lol. Ya I'm interested!! Like a mini Fargo challenge but it will be based on number of ascends.

I like the kinda uphill/flatish portion to get ready and get the heart rate going before the hill so I start the clock at the very first stop sign you come across.

I'll probably come to the Commons, but I don't know where we will go. Don't forget those canyons are almost as hot as the valley sometimes. Latigo can be a killer on a hot day.

Yea, I felt bad for them... it was so hot, they were hardly wearing any clothes. Poor things.
