Some do the main loop and dh on the singletrack on the Marshall Cyn side towards San Dimas CYN.

I did it with a bud that said it would take 1/2 an hour to get there. We rode after work. By the time we got up, it was dark. The view was cool. LA to one side and the IE to the other. I could see for miles and miles and miiiiiles!
I lived in Rancho Cucamonga for about a year, a few years ago. I used to go out and ride in the Claremont Wilderness Park. That is until I talked to some guys in the LBS and discovered it was supposedly off limits at night (It wasn't marked as such.), and the fun singletrack I was riding was also off-limits (Also not marked.).

Not being able to ride at night, and not being able to ride the more technical singletrack kinda ruined it for me so I quit riding there. Maybe I just needed to ride with a local to find some other good trails in the area...

Is that cool singletrack, the one that's sort of in a gulley under tree canopy, and pops out by some horse-property, also off limits? Or am I thinking of another area entirely? I remember parking at the top of Mills Ave.

This is a good site for finding routes: https://www.geoladders.com/routes.php

I rode mostly in the Santa Monica Mtns: Nike Missile Silo to Trippet Ranch - an all Fire Road Ride and is not close to you all.

fontucky has a good trial mostly singletrack windy stuff, nothing too hard. Some good hills for burners too. I raced there in the winter series, 8 mile loops.

I've ridden that route several times from the Yorba Linda side all the way to the other side (Chino Hills).
They now have campgrounds, we camp there in Feb-March (great time to mtb in that park). I know the park pretty well from Yorba Linda side. Its not that big of an area, lotsa hills and almost all fire roads. If you plan the ride try to do it on a Sunday (I have to work Saturdays )I would love to go. Ever since I started road riding I have not touch my MTB.

I've thought of doing that myself also. I can load my mtb with full camping gear and spend 2 days on the island. But I understand it's not cheap to ride on the island......I remember reading about a fee of some sort???

Since I ride mtb and lurke this site I can give you trail information. Telegraph Trail in Chino Hills is a good beginners trail. Its a fire road with a slight grade going up to 4 Corners. Not technical at all and most people should be able to do it. May have to cross a few small streams. If anyone wants to do some single track they can do Bovinian Delight up to South Ridge.

Here's a link to park map https://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/648/fi...noHillsMap.pdf

I usually start at Carbon Canyon regional park which I think is off of Kramer, and ride into Chino Hills on the farthest west end of the park

Okay, I'll have to look this up... I was supposed to ride up there last week but got stood up (just seeing if I could get your attention KW ) and ended up talking on the phone so long I lost all motivation

I want to get up there though as I've got a new bike coming and I figured it might be nice to have a clue how to use it!
