I found this seat...

It is a seat I found at wal mart and I like that fact that it has a rear light mounted in the back of it. Is it worth it? Or should I get a little light and put it on my bike (without the seat). I was thinking of taking the seat and fixing the light onto MY seat.

What's wrong with the saddle that came with the bike?

maximan1 10-16-06 07:07 PM

Nothing...I just saw the other saddle and thought..."Hmmmmm"

Be careful. If you think "Hmmmmm" everytime you see something, this can quickly become an extremely expensive obsession.

Listen to Jason. The last time he thought "Hmmmmm", that cost him $5,000. :lol:

I've seen those seats. Pretty good concept, IMO.

+1, I remember Jason talking about shoes and pedals one day. Then the next day he dumps $5k on a bike.:eek: But, I think it will take a while to go from Wal-mart saddles to weight-weeny race bikes.

One note on saddles: if it's big, cushy, and generally looks comfortable then it's probably not for rides longer than 20-30 minutes. If it's small, firm, and looks like it's going to ride up in places you never want a saddle to go; then it just might be comfortable.:rolleyes:

looking for a "cheap" saddle, I got this one for my race MTB hardtail, LOVE IT Cheap, LIGHT and the saddle has good feedback. Longest ride I have on that saddle was 59 miles....on the MTB

Ok I'll see the seat again. I'm not sure if its very big, but if it is I'll buy it anyways and then take off the lights and make them fit my bike seat.

What does IMO stand for?

IMO = In My Opinion.

I thought kids were born knowing this stuff now?

maximan1 10-16-06 08:51 PM

YOU kids were, not THIS kid :).
I'm still a kid BTW.

Occasionally, being single has its advantages. No beloved spouse telling me that I can't buy whatever nice toys I want. :D If it were just shoes and pedals, I might have been able to hold off on my purchase. But I needed bottle cages, too. :p (Since then, I have gone ahead and gotten bottle cages for the Roubaix since my dad will need them.) By the way, it really wasn't a spur of the moment decision. I think I told dog hair when we rode together in June that I had been thinking about getting a really nice bike along the lines of the R3.
