Wednesday morning ride in Huntington Beach

I know that it's last minute, but Tiff and I have about two hours to ride tomorrow while the littles are in preschool. If anyone wants to join us, we'll be leaving from Murdy Park (Goldenwest between Warner and Heil) at 10:00 sharp!

Well...that depends on the wind. If you're coming, we'll do whatever you want Tracy!

Santa Ana winds, red flag warning headed for O.C.
The first fall windstorm will raise temperatures into the upper 70s and low 80s.
By GARY ROBBINS
The Orange County Register
A red flag warning goes into affect at 8 a.m. Wednesday as the first significant Santa Ana windstorm of the fall moves into Orange County's eastern canyons, says the National Weather Service.

The warning means that conditions are ripe for a wildfire, forecasters say. Wednesday's temperatures are expected to hit the mid-to-upper 70s inland and the humidity could drop below 15 percent, forecasters say.

The county's landscape also is parched. The region only received 8.5 inches of rain during the fire season that ended on June 30. That's about 5 inches below normal.

The windstorm will begin Wednesday and blow on and off through Friday, with the strongest gusts in the county's canyons and foothills, said Stan Wasowski, a weather service forecaster. Most gusts will be in the 15 mph to 25 mph range. But 40 mph winds are expected in lower Fremont Canyon, above the Anaheim Hills, and could affect traffic in the Windy Ridge area of the 241(Eastern) Toll Road.

The red flag warning will remain in effect through 6 p.m. Friday and primarily applies to inland areas, where high temperatures will reach the 80s on Thursday and Friday, forecasters say

You know, the Santa Ana's that will be blowing through here tomorrow isn't going to help that cough and sniffle you seem to be getting.
