Do you like riding in a less-than-ideal conditions? (pics)

Man, it was foggy yesterday! 10 minutes into the ride I was soaking wet.

I love riding in "bad" weather! There's nobody else on the path! Wussies!

Silent Hill:

Whenever I saw a figure in the distance I always thought "It could be a zombie. Or a cyclist. Or worse, a zombie cyclist."

To the right is a creek/storm drain. A pretty long fall.

We had to deal with that on PCH with cars zooming by yesterday!

I hate inclement weather when I'm on a bike. And I wouldn't want to encounter a zombie cyclist.

I guess I'm not 'core, because I don't like the wet stuff. Other than that, I'm game. Although I would choose extreme heat over the frosty.

Nope, that's Ballona Creek.

That morning I rode down to Redondo Beach. On my way back a good 100 feet of the path on the beach was flooded by the tide(it wasn't when I passed there earlier). And it was pretty deep, I saw a guy try to ride thru it and he completely dipped his crank in salt water .

Not wanting to do that, I dismount and carry my bike while jogging thru the sand, CX style. That was a pretty good exercise.

See and I'm the opposite. Heat just drains it all out of me. And don't get me started on headwinds. Yeah, that would be my two most dreaded riding conditions. 30mph headwinds in 100 degree weather!

Let me describe my body. I have the torso of Tony Soprano and the limbs of a Ukrainian supermodel. So yeah, not that pretty.

Oh, I forgot, big thumbs up to Crank Bros. Candy Pedals! After going thru the sand, it still engages smoothly and no slips/extra movement at all.

I would rather take the cold over extreme heat. You can keep layering yourself when cold but you can only get down to your skin when hot and sometimes that still ain't enough.

Believe me, Brandy, I'd like nothing more than to take one for the team or from the team or from behind...so, I'll continue my selfless efforts of being one of your most enthuiastic members of the welcoming squad.

+1 [EDIT: +2]

If I have appropriate clothing, cold isn't too big an issue. The excess clothing slows me down a bit, but that's okay. Not much one can do about extreme heat.

Yes, and without hurting his feelings or starting a heated debate...I personally wish we didn't. When I got on this forum, I assumed it was full of adults (with healthy senses of humor) and that any children (under the age of 18) would be monitored by their parents who are responsible for them (not me).

Sorry, but that is my honest opinion...

Now, back to weather conditions...
