Big Shout Out to Surf City Cyclery

I now there were some threads a few weeks ago about mechanics and repair shops in SoCal and I just want to say thanks to the guys at Surf City Cyclery for their work on my Cannnondale CAAD7 road bike. It need a bunch of work: chain rings, chain, cassette, shift cables. They turned it around in one day! I rode it three days later on the Fall Solvang Double on Sunday ( the staff ride) and it worked flawlessly, didn't miss a shift. It made for an awesome ride.

Now if I could just get xtort to fix his bottom bracket so I don't have to listen to all the time I'm riding with him!!!!

I wasn't cheap, the whole thing with parts and labor, with repacking my wheel beearings and the cost of new wheel bearings on order was about $320.

$320 only sounds expensive until you're broken down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.

I was going to say that store looked very expensive and overpriced when I browsed the shop.

I had a shop repack my bearing in a tandem hub for $12, he did it while I waited about 1/2 an hour.!

Pays to do it yourself though. I uprgraded my Ultegra 8 to DA 9 speed. Rear derailleur, chain, cassette, cables, brifters, bar tape, and the tools (Park cable/ housing cutter)to do it for $300!

Not very hard and worth it to learn!
