Anyone know a frame painter in the Los Angeles area? I might need a carbon frame painted...black with clearcoat preferably.

just plain black?

There's Lizart in the SFV. If you have lots of money there's Cyclart in San Diego county.

Not a west coaster but I have had two frames painted by CyclArt and worth every darn penny:
They have several different levels of cost, both times I went with the CAT II job and excellent work!
Had one done here back east by Fresh Frame in Ephrada Pa. and wish I sent it west instead.
Susan Cunningham
there is SOOOO smart!

nothing against cyclart, but they're much better at restoration and classic styling than anything else. i don't know if i'd recommend them if you're looking for more contemporary flava.

I like Rossi well enough. I would have rather seen Hayden take it straight up, but congrats.

i liked rossi when he rode for honda. now he's just a worthless traitor. very classy gesture after the finish, though. positive respect points.

It's not like he left for NASCAR or anything.

not sure if powdercoating holds up on carbon, but this guy was telling me about this place calledNorth County Powdercoating in San Marcos. A bit south though. On th upside, he said it was only $75 for a single color.

Since powder coating is typically applied electrostatically, I'm not sure how well it would work on a carbon frame. Carbon might not like the heat curing usually required either.

Lizart is nice. Many of my friends had work done by him. I've also seen some really nice restored bikes on display by Cyclart.

Cannot recommend CyclArt - couldn't even get past the email stage before being put off by the arrogance and sarcasm of Susan Cunningham. I would give her a penny of my money, no matter how good a job they might do (which incidentally is nearly triple the cost of the very best frame painters here in the UK!)

Avoid like the plague.
