To see if I'm going to need to complain about it being too hot or too cold! Give me anywhere between 65 and 75 and I'm a happy girl.

OMG! allTunes has the Tracy Chapman song I've been wanting forever, and iTunes doesn't have it. It used to play on my neices Caring Bridge page. I'm going to be searching for music all night.

You're not stupid, George, now stop it...

Paint can be found under Start/All Programs/Accessories (assuming your using Windows?)

So after all that, here's what my everyday desktop looks like: (I keep it simple)
At least I learned how to post a snapshot of my desktop this evening...

I'm with Fixer. I've got 3 machines, and they all have the same black background. Everytime I put up a background, I feel like the machine gets 3x slower.

It is...but it has to get into ram...so the cpu has to process the request...hd has to read it and the video card has to display..
all that can slow things down...
lean and mean is the way to go...

Sounds like my POS computer at work. One too many programs and it pretty much just stalls..
Piss' me off to no end, so.....

at home, I can start just about as many programs as I like and it just screams along w/o any complaint.
Just a few weeks ago I upgraded to 2 gigs of ram, that along with the 64x2 prcessor and nothin' seems to slow it.
