George;
We did the Rosebowl loop from CSUN this morning and starting early it was freezing. By the time we got to the bakery on Honolulu it was fairly comfortable. If you saw a bunch if us sitting outside the bakery around noon that was the SFVBC group.
I like Canadians. But I hate their weather and I wish they'd stop sharing it with us.

Were you on Chevy Chase coming down towards the Pasadena? I was going up with a group around then. I waved to a group coming down and one of them yelled my name. I can't think who it would be as most people I think would have a chance of recognizing me are at the Stagecoach. Maybe zzzwillzzz?

Back on point, yeah, it was FREEZING this morning. We met in Duarte near encanto park at 7:30, it was 34 degrees, ugh! Enough of this, it just isn't that much fun. I discovered the magic of smartwool undershirts and socks. I'll never go back.

My weekend ride was Rose Valley. Cold, very cold, but dry, no ice at all to worry about. And a bonus, apparently the motorcyclists don't like it so cold. It was very peaceful there. Only 111 miles though, route cut short because of the cold.

Well Dan, it was 5:18am when I posted that, I am generally up around 4:00am. I have no idea why. I am a strange duck.

I do try to get some work done while everyone is still sleeping. I even sneak a ride in before it gets light. It then pretty much leaves the rest of the day to goof off, which is where I really excel.

Left the house for the SFVBC club ride yesterday at 7:10.
Going through Warner Center in Woodland Hills it was 20 degrees, ice everywhere. It was even colder than Saturday morning.
A very tropical 39 degrees this morning.

I was headed over to the regular Monday ride, but the wind warnings are freaking me out a bit. I may ride over to Griffith... but "gusts of 50mph"? bleh.

I'm so mad at weather.com right now... I did some laps around Griffith Park and there was NO WIND AT ALL. None. It was gorgeous. But I got such a late start, I didn't have time for a long ride. Grrr.

I dont know how well it would be for Griffith Park, but I find Weatherbug Plus to be great for finding what's happening locally. In Pasadena, there's about 6 schools that have live Weatherbug sites, so I set up my multisite Mylocations to show about 4 of them at any one given time. It's nice to see the variation in temperatures and what's happening with the winds...

Vance, I'm working today. Just got back from a lunchtime walk, it's blowing about 50 mph up here
in Chatsworth, almost got knocked down more than once.

That's so wild. It was dead calm in Griffith, and still very calm here in Sherman Oaks. I guess I know why everyone wants to head east on windy days!

Thanks JP -- I'll check out weatherbug.

Beautiful out on the Whittier Narrows ride today. A little wind, but definitely nothing too extreme. And the temps felt great about an hour into the ride.

A nice warm 51 degrees (but windy) when I left my house this morning at 5:30, but a chilly 27 degrees (with no wind) by the time I made it to work an hour later!
