My real average was 17.1, not sure where that spike (60.1) came from. But if you click on speed, you'll see that spike was just for a second. Maybe one off the underpasses on SART. My real Max should read 35

Awesome job Gretzky! I'm amazed that you not only did a Century but kept up that kind of average speed. I can't even average 17 MPH for a 40 mile ride! Hearing about your first Century just motivates me that much more to train for my own first century (sometime in February....i think).

60.1mph that's nothing. I've hit 43149.4mph, well at least my Edge says I did.
The Edge software is quite bad at handling gaps in the Satellite signal. If the signal drops out for awhile the Edge figures you travelled the straight line distance between the point where it lost and the signal and where it found the signal again in only a few seconds. So you get bogus max speeds. This is poor programming and should be fixed by Garmin. What irritates me even more is how the Edge will do this even when you have a speed/cadence sensor. Apparently the Edge software pretty much ignores the data from the speed sensor. It really should be the other way around since the speed sensor will be much more accurate than GPS.

Didn't happen to me very often, but on my last couple rides, I've had spikes of 250mph and 120mph. Only happens once per ride generally, but it totally screws up my graphs. If I have time, I may play around today to see if I can edit the data file somehow.
