Whats the difference between the yellow and red Ultegra cleats?? And whats the advantages/disadvantages of each????

I know there is float on the yellows and none on the reds....

I think the difference is just the float.

Red has zero float. Yellow has 6º float.

I don't know the diference of those exact pedals, but look have black and red. One with float, one without.

Float allows a bit of play. ALlows the knees to move a bit to avoid damage of the knee. and prolly comfort too. DIffer pedals have differ amounts of float. I don't like too much. I'd rather set my pedals exact. I just feel sloppy wit too much float. 4 degrees is prolly good. 12 is way too much for me.

Fixed is cause some people prefer the fixed position. But if not set up properly, could cause damage to the knees.

Sometimes my current yellows feel like they are floating a little too much and I'm not clipped in securely. It might be this particular set - I've used several yellows and this one is the worst.

I'm debating about getting some reds.... because when I unclip, it seems I need to move my foot more to get out...

You can change the tension (to your liking) on your pedals to make it easier to click out. You'll need the allen wrench that came with your pedals. On the pedals, you'll see a + - setting. It's that simple

Its not the tension, its more the amount of movement my foot needs to move before it starts to disengage....

Maybe it's your technique. I have the yellow cleats, and they work great!
But the yellow may not be for everyone. Personally, I like the travel of the yellows, but you may want to give the reds a shot

That's how it is when I unclip too.

I'd like to try the reds but I need the float for another issue.

If you're coming from MTB cleats/pedals, it can take a little while to get used to the clip-out of (more twist, more tension) road pedals. But you get used to it pretty quick.
