Yay, I'm out! I exceed the weight/gearing ratio for this ride.

Oh stop it! You've not been granted permission to be out for this ride, mister!

The steepest sections are on Oak Glen, but that's not to say that the final 6-7% stretch to Onyx may feel a lot more like 15%

I may have to rethink my goal for this ride, I haven't done any extended climbing for 5 months. This is gonna hurt

SAG for the BA Preview Ride on March 25, 2007

Will the SAG have a time limit as to when they will arrive at each pass and when they will leave?

I'm really not sure exactly how we are working the SAG vehicle(s) at this moment. In fact, we have a need for one more if anyone would like to volunteer. What is your concern specifically?

Since we are staggering the start (slower riders head out early) we should be covered with one car (two is ALWAYS better) and Mandy is wonderful as a SAG driver!!!!

Basically, head out at your own pace, but do realize that this ride is training for people doing the Breathless Agony ride and we will all be pushing it a little bit and you should as well (just don't kill yourself!).

BA Preview

My main concern is that we would fall under the slower group and did not want to hold back the SAG or any one else. Thank you for getting back to me Brandy, but as it turns out, we decided we need to do more intense hill climbing first. Thanks for putting this together and have a safe ride.

There should be no problem with SAG splitting up the groups. What I plan on doing is on the climbs leepfrog between groups. It will be a non issue at all once you see how things are done. This is not a traditional "sag station" type of ride - think more of team car with supplies. You will see me in the car at least once every 15 minutes minimum. My hope is we choose to regroup at certain points along the route - we can discuss that was the day goes near. Also you will all have my cell if you need absolutly anything.

One word of advice through - just like an organized century please carry all things you believe that you will need for your bike for a flat, etc. If you need a special tool (i.e. mavic spoke tool, etc) bring it and put it in the car. Please also bring things like water for yourself, or better yet a 2.5 liter of water to share if needed (only a few dollars).

This is true. Mandy knows exactly what she's doing and provides excellent support. No matter if riders are strung out for miles, support is guaranteed and you will see her frequently, roaming back and forth. She came to my rescue once within minutes on GRR after I called it quits and had nothing left in my legs during one of the century/Mt Baldy rides.... No worries...

Alright Mandy...you're convincing me that we don't need two SAG vehicles.

The descent from Onyx can be nasty cold, until you get down a couple thousand feet. This will make do for anyone that doesn't have a jacket, or doesn't want to haul one around. Thanks again for saggining this, I've been spoiled by BF rides, where you've sagged for us
