I also have not seen a Galaxy game, and one of my permanent goals is to go to at least one game per team in the area that I live.
Angels - done
Ducks - done
Kings - done
Chargers - done
Padres - done

Dodgers, Lakers, Clippers, Galaxy, and the Ice Dogs (Long Beach Hockey) are on the plate soon.

by "go" do you mean "ride" to games?

there are a couple people that ride that are members of the Los Angeles Riot Squad (supporter's club) and they'd be happy to join you if you want to ride.

as for myself i would ride there, but I would be coming from home (silverlake). there is another guy that would be riding from the southbay (a bit of a shorter ride). and I know some people that might ride from the eastern reaches of the county (whittier/pico).

i have no interest in beckham, but i like futbol and riding my bike.

most games are on saturdays, start at 7ish and end about 2 hours later

I like Becks well enough, but if his arrival generates more attention for MLS and the game, gets more marquee players to come, keeps more kids playing, and improves the overall level of the sport in the country, I'll be a huge fan of his.

i can't argue with that.

some of it just leaves a foul taste in my mouth. the front office has kept prices under wraps. an increase in price was coming, but just how much was "pending signing of beckham". there are a lot of longtime fans that are not to fond of this. i've also heard brokers have bought entire sections of the stadium (upper deck). prices are going to sky-rocket (already the highest in mls).

but on a happy note, a galaxy top is great to ride in (as is a nice orange Roma top)

I would love to bring my 10 year old daughter to the games, she plays and loves soccer, but I have one worry; would she be subject to swearing while their or are the fans a little more subdued than say a Kings fan. This is NOT a tirade about swearing, I could care less, but just about my daughter being subjected to it. We just finished watching "Really Bend it like Beckham", a training film for kids and I know she would love the live thing.

We went to the Women's tournamant final on Nov. 26th and she's never had so much fun.

that's a valid concern.

for now the southeast corner (section 138) is housing the supporter's group. the front office has decreed that they need to keep things pg-13 and the group plans to comply. i can't speak for the rest of the stadium. people get mad about bad calls and things like that, so swearing can happen anywhere in the stadium.

I am not sure, but I believe that soccer fans are more 'enthusiastic' instead of 'mean and vulgar'... so the cursing might lessen, but I have not been to a pro soccer game in LA so I do not know.

although, 'enthusiastic' for futball fans can mean stampedes, riots, and other forms of general mayhem.

I'll keep this in mind. Is that the corner where the players come on the field from?

Thanks.

Well, let's just hope there aren't to many English Premier League fans there.

I was thinking more of the rioting, stampeding.

yes it is the corner closest to the tunnel

yes there are a good number of epl fans as well as english wanna-be's (people that gush over all things english in a rather disgusting teenie-bopper fashion........and yes these are grown men).

showing your enthusiasm means lots of things to different people. this is los angeles. different strokes for different folks.

I think it's pretty cool that he's coming here. Of course, I'm sure this move is motivated purely by money. Still, I think it's good for soccer in the USA. I'd go to a game if the timing is right and I can get away! I'll even bring my son, he's 4 1/2 now and he's already been to an Angels game.

no, i won't go. and besides the velodrome is only about 10 feet away, i'll be over there.

can't you guys stick to one unpopular sport at a time? why does soccer have to be big here? just because it is in the rest of the world? i thought that's what made america great (or at least used to)?

Because there's nothing in team sports like a sweetly struck free kick into the top corner of the net. Or a sequence of one-touch passes to slice through four defenders back. Or a delicate chip over a charging keeping. Or a cracking half volley from 30 yards out.
