So far, yes, unless it starts to rain. Leaving from the corner of the SART and Taft Rd in Orange at 5:30 and truning around at Featherly Park.

Man it's going to be cold.

the day was too filled with busy stuff. Went out just before dark. Rode in the dark for maybe one hour. THe road was uncharacteristically quite. It felt great. Thanks for some new winter gear, I did not even feel cold. .

Already did 26 miles down to Seal Beach and then home. Nearly got right hooked about a mile from home. Actually followed her into the parking lot to cuss her out for a couple minutes. I haven't been that pissed in a while. It motivated me to do a few quick climbs of the overpass by my house though.

Did my regular 30 min hill repeat ride near my house. Not much mileage but a lot of effort in a short ride. No rain here in Riverside yet.

Rode home from work today, beat my personal best by 5 minutes, even though I was on my slower "rain" bike. Must have had something to do with the wind blowing south to north due to the storm front blowing through.

We ended up going on our ride and even though 2 guys pulled out we had a good ride. For the first time, I over dressed and got way overheated, so on the way back I took off the jacket and the balaclava. I was freezing on the way back and it felt great and forced me to keep my speed way up (for me).

You went with John? Where did you guys ride? I'm so jealous. I was at work until 7:45pm. I had NO workout today (2 days in a row - NOT good ). So, humor me Where? I'll join next time. John, I'm ALWAYS up for a night ride as long as I know enough in advance to bring my bike to work. I need to get in 2 nights/week. At least through April due to double training. Then I can back down to one night/week (although, why? )

Nah, 1955 must be talking about someone else.

I did go out for a ride tonight by myself, however, to test out my wetsuit. I ended up dropping down Rosemount into the Rosebowl (which I really need to stop doing at night), headed down the Arroyo to South Pasadena, went E to San Marino, climbed a nice hill (Virginia Rd I think), went east to Sierra Madre Blvd, looped around, came back up Wilson by Cal Tech, and on home. I like riding through that part o Pasadena/San Marino, it's quiet, and the streets are nice.

I go out almost every night during the week between 7-8, you're always welcome to join me (we could meet at the bowl, it's pretty close) and cruise around the area. I usually have no idea which way I'm going when I leave the apartment, though...

How about Thurs. of next week? You just lead the way and I'll follow! I love quiet streets in the dark.

Sure, we can go do some nighttime hill climbing around the Rosebowl (slow descents, of course) and maybe a run down through San Marino. My NEW compact crank is supposed to arrive and be installed Wednesday so I'll be itching to play with it and see how it compares to by double.

I should be able to make the Griffith Park ride the night before, as well. I'm sorta kinda considering attempting Butterflood, so I should be out riding quite a bit for the next month.

Maybe that brevet in SD, too...

You can do both, John. If you want to. I'll be on both and would love to see you there.

John who?

I went with Greg, Lenny and Francis; we leave from my office in Orange at the SART and Taft. You are more than welcome to come along, but it might be a long drive.

I'm seriously considering both and they work well together so that I would have the century last weekend, then the Stage Coach and the SD Brevet as stepping stones to Butterflood. I'm trying to come up with a good 150 miler, too, before Butterfield, any ideas?

I'm already signed up for Death Valley in March, too, and really want to go for the Solvang Double at the end of March. Those two would be nice for my wife, too, as she'll poke around DV while I'm out riding and she can have a nice day to herself in Solvang.
