The only budget wheel are the Rynolites and they weigh a freaking ton but stronger then bullets which is good for me cuz I like to go fast though the rough stuff. Baja I hope you make it out there, you'll like this trail if you haven't riden it already.
Thats too funny, man. Pretty much since I started here I have been planning to get a gloss white 660 (geared) frame and strip the bruiser so I will have a more appropriate XC rig (not that the bruiser hasn't been serving me well-I love it, except on climbs).

We are just gonna have to own similar frames because I am absolutely married to the idea of a white frame. There are a buttload of them on the shelf 20 feet away from where I am typing this, no wait, there are some about 10 feet above me.

I am a go for this ride for sure BTW. Wife says 'go have fun'.

If you're interested, I'll sell you my green super light weight Magnesium frame for like $75 bucks, size 19, weight 3.1lbs and I'll leave the seat post n collar in there. Paid 150 the frame and 30 for the seat post. Climbs VERY well, stiff and light. All the parts except the seat post and cables can transfer over.

Is the frame Disc or V-brake??
I have a pair of very light Hugi 240 wheels w/ practically new rims I'm not using.( v-brake only..)

the Zion is disc only, so I was just gonna get some 160mm BB7's. Price point has them on sale for $60 per right now. I found some other wheelset on Jenson, $125 deore hubs w/ some mavic, weight is 2330 for the set. The Rynolites are 2440gms @ $89. So roughly 1/4lbs weight savings for the extra 35 bucks.

24" width, great condition. Help you keep the weight down.

that sounds good!!!!!!!! That save prolly 100grms there. I would love to keep the build under 25lbs if possible......just don't know if it can happen though. We'll see!!!

I am very tempted but I think my heart is set on the Zion. I am very into the idea of owning a steel machine also.

Mostly I just want to get something together so I can give you back your jumper/dh frame. I am finding out I have a need to suffer that XC riding provides.

after I typed all that, I realized that you prolly get a discount on the frame so you'd be better off with the Zion. I can't wait to get one!!!! Don't worry about the frame, I don't miss it LOL

I'm trying to get some friends from Temec to ride too, sounds like we'll have a good group going.

It looks like I just might be able to make this.
My Bakersfield trip is the following weekend, I had it mixed up.
So I'm thinking, trip up to Fontucky, over to Jenson ( where we all KNOW Billy will
get us discounts on our purchases ), and then to Moms in Claremont for
a Mom day thing. ( well Saturday is the day before, but I don't think she'll care )

Ride, new shorts, and Moms.
Kill 3 birds with one trip!!

I'm still in.

I was actually out there last night with some coworkers. My boss got us a little lost and we ended up on the beginner DH course-I was on a demo Intense 5.5 w/ SRAM X7 and Juicy5 hydraulics.

I was falling all over the place.

Can't wait to get out there on my own bike tomorrow!
